Next year @ QB, you want _______ under center:

I want Lance. He's the guy I went nuts over us drafting cause he's who I wanted all along and he's the guy that I think can be the next great young NFL QB that gets added to the group of young QB's in this league that people are excited about. I think Lance can put Kyles offense over the top. I think by seasons end in 22 people are going to just include the 49ers in talk of the best teams in the NFL, there will be no argument. I think by seasons end 2022 the morons talking about firing Shanahan will be choking on all the crow.

Absolutely this!

If Lance is not the starting Quarterback in 2022, Lynch and Shanahan and hell, even York needs to shoulder the blame for spending all that draft capital for a Quarterback that's not able to play in his second year!

That's a major screw up.

I believe in Trey, he showed me that he has the tools to be a great QB in his limited play time.

Lets go Trey!

If Jimmy came back I wouldn't complain - Rodgers sat behind Favre for four years, so I don't think it would be the end of the world if Trey sat another year. The only negative would be that we wouldn't be able to re-sign some of our free agents, ala, Deebo and Bosa.

I don't see why you would trade 3 firsts and then have your guy sit behind an average quarterback for two years. One year I can understand, but not two years.

Don't worry, Rocket - it won't happen.

It was actually 3 years. Rodgers took over at the start of year 4. The difference was Favre was a great QB. Jimmy is..................Jimmy.

Your right - it was 3 years, my bad.

Your right, Gore - I need to be less indecisive.
Trey currently at 69%... nice
Give me a proven winner who will demonstrate that there were 9 mistakes made ahead of him. They will be forever known as the Rosen 9. Give me Josh Rosen.

Completely untrue. And this is the great fallacy people still believe.

If Jimmy stays, his contract is off the books after 2022. Samuel isnt technically a FA until 2023 and Bosa, not until 2024. If they are signed to extensions this offseason, the front office could easily structure it so more of the financial burden hits in later years.

Jimmy staying would, however, limit how many other FAs SF can sign--their own or others.

Not sure it would limit anything to be honest. I mean clubs can do real financial wizardry with putting cap hits off into the future. If we don't get the compensation we want, the scenario detailed by Schefter, we could just hold him and restructure some guys to have more hit in the future when JG is off the books. Don't have to lose anybody.

Thanks for clearing that up - I wouldn't mind another year of Jimmy, I think another year of Trey sitting isn't all that bad.
