Brady. I want a SB next year while most of the players are still young/cheap enough, and Trey is probably going to need 2 years at least. If Trey had been the starter this and last year it wouldn't be a question though.

You do understand that the circumstances of the poll when it was started in Jan 22 is different than now? As in Jan 22, "next year" meant 2022, not 2023. Trey was healthy, Jimmy was healthy and on the trade block. Now, both are injured, and Purdy is starting. Since the original poll pertained to 2022, then the more viable poll would be, "who do you want, Purdy or Johnson or Eason," since those are the only viable candidates for the balance of 2022. If you wanted to know who should be QB for 2023, what would seem to make more sense at this point would to be to start a new poll that reflected the current circumstance, kind of like the one I started yesterday, which someone in their wisdom locked for some reason.

Certainly, a thread that asks who you want at QB next year can go on from year to year, but not a poll. What are we to do, add and subtract players every year? How meaningful is that?

But certainly, adding Purdy to this current poll is totally meaningless, statistically and otherwise, and will not accurately reflect the fan's sentiments.

If the mods don't want two different threads, then this is obviously the one that should have been locked, since it no longer applies in the same way and the poll numbers are a reflection of sentiment at a different point in time.

Brady or Lance, unless Purdy gets us #6. Then in that scenario, Purdy deserves to start out as QB1 in 2023.

You'd want your 1st round pick QB to succeed and work out. But, this is a better question to answer in February, hopefully.

This thread is from January 2022. Purdy wasn't even a 49er yet and Jimmy had one foot out the door lol.
