The same staff that stuck with Jimmy these past few years lol ?

Are you implying that the question being asked is not the one that needs to be answered first?

Bad comparisons

Anything could happen. We have the team for it. We've gotten this far with the trash QB we've rolled out the last few years.

The bad take is people thinking we can just call Green Bay up and they'll give us Rodgers for next to nothing.

There's no way we're getting Rodgers or Brady, so the option is to either bring Jimmy back for another season ( ), bring in another average QB to be a stop-gap, or roll with the guy we sold the farm for.

If the 49ers aren't ready to roll with Lance, then we wasted three first round draft picks and people should be fired for that.

Well Brady's retiring but why zero chance at getting Rodgers? I mean, I agree it probably won't happen but not sure why it's not possible?

if we never made the move up for Lance, sure.

Since we did, yeah let's tank our pitiful draft capital even more, spend 30+ mil on yet another QB who seems to be great in the regular season but couldn't beat us at home when it counted

We don't have a first round draft pick (which other team's do). In order to get Aaron, you'd have to give up someone. Are you willing to give up someone like Warner or Aiyuk for Aaron, because that's what it would take.

We're also conference rivals. Green Bay isn't going to trade him to a team that could eliminate them in the playoffs.

Green Bay controls where Rodgers goes, why send him to a team like SF, when they can trade him to a team like Denver or Pittsburgh and not have to face him in a potential playoff game.

On what planet would Green Bay sent a player like Rodgers to one of their biggest rivals?

We are built to win now the core should be intact for 1 or 2 more seasons before we start blowing this s**t up again

Win mode now no time to develop Lance we want a real shot at returning to the title game next year bring in Rodgers. We all saw how Tampa Bay went from Night N Day same season they brought in Brady. This 49ers team has more talent too than Tampa.
Choice is obvious

Tell me how we're going to get Rodgers.

We have nothing to trade GB for him.
We're conference rivals, why would GB send him to a team that could eliminate them in the playoffs

There's no way in hell we're getting Rodgers, it's just not going to happen.

The freaking Cincinnati Bengals (the Bengals) are in the Super Bowl with Joe Burrow, a QB who has barely played a season and a half.

Sagarin year end 2021 has LSU ranked 3 spots ahead of NDSU. LSU#35, NDSU #38.

could've had that in 2017....but Lynch just had to draft his college classmate Solomon Thomas

Wasn't it lynch who wanted him but Shanny wasn't interested in him?
It'll be Lance whether he's ready or not... No good expecting us to sign a big name QB. You'll only be disappointed.
Uhhh... I'm not saying he has to be Josh Allen, but if Trey Lance is not ready to at least be a serviceable starter by Week 1 next year after developing an entire season and then getting another offseason... something must've gone very, very wrong.

But yeah... everyone saying they want Rodgers or whatever other franchise-level QB is on the market... Cool, I understand the logic. But with what draft capital are you wanting to do that with? We traded the farm for Trey. Sure, we could probably package Trey for stuff... but Trey would've had to be very BEHIND in his development to go and do something so aggressive to trade for a one, two-year rental. It's not our M.O. We're trying to build for the long haul and compete every year.
Including the playoffs, and excluding the second half of the Seattle game Jimmy didn't play in, Jimmy averaged 1.33 TD's per game (passing and rushing), one turnover per game, and 251 yards per game (passing and rushing).

In 2.5 games, Trey has averaged 1.6 TD's per game, 0.8 turnovers per game and 303 yards per game.

Trade Jimmy and get Trey's offseason development program started ASAP. It's not rocket science.

I'm sure Brady would play one more season for his childhood team.
Tom Brady is a realistic option. I hope we at least give it a try. NFL will let him win a chip on his way out with his childhood team.
Lance, but Brady on a vet min deal is tempting (but very unlikely)
