Bye Jimmy thanks for losing the SB and costing us a SB trip this year.
Please lend your talents to another team.
Good riddance.

Definite upgrade over Smith. Can't believe people can't see this.....we win 2011 NFC Championship game with Jimmy instead of 1/11 on 3rd down.
Kap had a brief moment where he had strong running game, good running lanes, and open receivers everywhere. Once those were taken away he couldn't do much except 1 or 2 splash plays a game while the defense tried to hold up.
Kap's arm talent was fun for a little while. Just unfortunate he made Jimmy G look like Montana against Seattle....
This one is tough...Only thing I can really say though, Jimmy never had that signature playoff performance. While both Kap and Alex did.
If only we had won that Super Bowl for several reasons. He played pretty well for 3 quarters and was moving toward Super Bowl MVP. But then...
And no it wasn't all on him.

Youve already said enough.
its funny that Alex has a meaningful throw in 49ers history and Jimmy doesn't lol.... he had a great chance to have one too
Two 3rd and 16's versus the Rams.
Pass over the middle while getting hit/pressure to Jeff Wilson who took it the rest of the way to beat Arizona.
Overcoming 5 turnovers to find cat boy Dante Pettis for the game winning score against Pittsburgh.
Maybe those didn't occur in the playoffs or Super Bowl but those are all throws and plays that if not made lead to 3 losses and certainly a loss of the number one seed if not out of the playoffs entirely. Add in completely dicing up the Saints when he had to in a shoot out, even if Kittle's play was more legendary in Niners lore, and yeah if you're always looking for the negative I guess you'll find it.
From 13-3 to 10-6 or 9-7 if Jimmy doesn't make those plays.

Jimmy thank you! For being an average QB. You did your absolute best. In my opinion you never really played confididently after your first injury.
That said you did your best. It isn't your fault alone for the 49ers winning the Super Bowl in 19 and in many, many impportant games. You left a lot of plays on the field because of your lack of vision, that hurts. Last week especially hurts.
Your coach, also while beyond his years in football knowledge he apparently has trust issues and coaches soft when he has a lead and puts too much pressure on the defense, always. Why not go for the jugular and score some actual offensive points in the 4th quarter of an important game? What a strange concept?
I hope the 49ers trade you to a winner but to be honest, you already won. You aren't leading a team to another Super Bowl as a starter unless the effin moons and heavens and stars align. You got a 75m contract, paid as the highest player in the league at one time.
That contact was NEVER warranted skills wise but his team believed in him so that says a lot about his character. Unfortunately, character alone is not going to win you a chip. That said, thank you for your service and if we get the best deal for you sending you to the Jets or anywhere, so be it.
End Rant

After that fat contract think he could've taken his offseasons much more seriously.

Agreed. He never looked liked a bookworm. Didn't take it seriously enough to be a winner. Basically happy to be where he was and especially coming from being Brady's backup, where he never thought he'd play.
He basically came to a team that was starving at the QB position and had basically struck out for decades (2+). He was a glimmer of hope. The 49er execs were hoping he'd taken Brady's study and preparation habits to bring winning ways. He didn't.
Edit, I guess he did bring some winning ways and leadership but he left a lot to be desired as a QB.
