Grappy,

you showed such talent when you got here, it sucks that you're leaving on the negative note because our HC was too busy designing nice plays which he had no idea on how to use instead of just calling it on game day... sorry that our HC did not have any skills to make you better on reading defenses and/or improve your mechanics... you showed such promise when you got here, enough promise that you were given over $100 million dollar contract.. You showed nothing but class and there's no way that you could have won here any which way because our HC was not all in w/you.. He did not even have enough juevos to replace you when he had a chance on signing the SECOND best QB in NFL history. He kept you instead so that you could be the one to be blamed once he chokes up another BIG LEAD in a big game.

Good luck to you, and I have a feeling that you are going to find yourself either in Denver, Pittsburgh or at Washington.

NOTHING BUT RESPECT!!!

Those 5 games in 2017 were great and then his knee and Shanahan killed what could have been an amazing career.

Good luck in your new team Jimmy and I´m glad that I won´t have to see you again with us.

If this is it for Jimmy with the Niners, I'm thankful for all he's done as QB1 in helping bring this franchise back to relevance in playing winning football.

I've seen every single Niners game played by Montana & Young so my standards for the QB position for this franchise are incredibly high…IMO, Jimmy is no doubt the best QB this team has had since Garcia.

Add in Jimmy's leadership qualities, team-first mentality, competitiveness, toughness, and professionalism…I'll always appreciate his overall abilities as a QB & what he's given this team during his time here.
May your third down conversions be easy and may your Porn stars be just as easy.Keep it interesting.

Those intangibles remind me of Jim McMahon of the mid-1980s Chicago Bears. He was much more limited physically than Garoppolo but his spirit and competitiveness were infectious on that team and rang up a lot of victories, including a Super Bowl.

Good intangibles comparison between Jimmy and McMahon on the Bears back in those days (and I couldn't stand McMahon and the Bears...the Niners' dominant playoff victory in '89 over them on their field in the freezing cold was one of the greatest playoff victories I've witnessed for this team).
Love how he handled everything this year in regards to the front office trading up to get Lance. Clearly he has some leadership skills in the locker room. He just makes too many mistakes and does not make enough big plays. He did show toughness this year which he did not seem to show in previous years or at least that was the optics. I really think its time to move on from him. In order to win a SB with him everything else needs to be dominate and that just too difficult to accomplish. Your QB needs to be one of the best players on your team, he is not. I dont think we get much for him but it only takes one.

Jimmy may not be statistically the best QB out there, but I truly believes he makes his teammates better by just being a damn good human and leader. I think teams will see the value in that when thinking about trading for him.

On field skills first by far before character. Teams are not going to give up draft picks because he is a good guy.

He is a good enough qb though I didn't say it was end all factor, but it is something to consider. You need to be a good leader if you wanna stick as a starting qb.
He is good enough.......
It was a great ride if he moves on, thanks for all the fun!
