it's as simple as that.

If this is true then we have bigger issues than just Jimmy because it means Kyle coached to lose this game.

Kyle was coaching to lose the second he decided not to split first team reps between Jimmy and Trey and make it a real competition in week one of the off-season.

I have asked a few times and never get an answer so... one last try.
Was Jimmy allowed to change the play? I dont think I have ever seen him do it.
Top 3 reasons we lost:
1- Jimmy
2- Right side of the o-line
3- Tartt dropping the pick.

I'm not entirely convinced Trey could have won that competition. That being said, I believe entirely that had Trey started from week 1, we still would have made the playoffs, and by then he would have been ready and able to get us further than Jimmy.

What about leaving Kupp wide open on his two TD receptions? Or giving up 11 3rd down conversions?

No. We are not going to talk about that.

This is inevitable. The fact is our defense held an offense which scored 27 ppg to 20, and against a defense that allowed 21 ppg our offense only scored 17. This is not on the defense.
original post was perfect, now come the excuses about coaching and Jimmy

Play calling and Jimmy's execution follow the s**t show we had from the oline yesterday. The O is setup to run the ball and then play action, we all know this. Could not run the ball yesterday so play action was pretty much dead. You can cry all you want about Jimmy, but his passer rating up to the 4th qtr was over a 100 I believe. Then the line from the center to the rt completely collapsed. They stood there like turnstiles, arms out guarding air but letting free rushers left and right. I agree Jimmy is not a top 10 but he's alot better than this crowd gives him credit for and unless we address the oline next year, Trey is going to be running for his life and his development will be stalled at best.

I think there's a good probability of that.

But the fact is (1) Shanahan would have lost the team if he traded Jimmy or benched him early, and (2) without Jimmy's limitations we wouldn't have been forced to realize Deebo could be a recking ball from the top of the I.

The team couldn't run because the Rams rightfully had no respect for Jimmy's ability to beat them. This will not be the case with Trey, who has shown repeatedly he can beat a defense deep and has no qualms about throwing downfield.

Well I'll talk about it. The Rams played to stop the run. In a case like this, you run some sweeps (jet, student body) to let them know everything ain't going to be in the middle. Bad Jimmy. Kyle Shanahan (1st reason is on him and more rushing attempts).

Youre nuts. The only reason they scored 20 is because of the long sustained drives. That defense was atrocious and abysmal. Two dropped touchdowns also. Did they even punt in the 4th?

I haven't seen the defense play that s**tty since the Titans game.

There is constantly multiple short passing options, what the heck have you been watching to say anything other than that lol.

We're talking about staying OUT of 2nd and long. Kyle went full HaRoman on first downs.

20 of Jimmy's 30 passing attempts came on 1st and 2nd down. On 24 1st down attempts they passed it 11 times. So passing it 45% on first downs is bad?

Yes. Once you saw what LA was doing. Like they saw us playing soft zone and just took the simple underneath 2-4 yard passes and got 5 more in YAC. 2nd and short.

Compare those numbers.

Ya definitely to many up the middle runs on first down.

Kyle didn't call a great game
OL didn't play well
Jimmy didn't play well
Run game wasn't good

The whole offense just didn't play good.

I'll add that the D didn't play well in the 4th quarter. Receivers were wide open and there wasn't enough pressure on Stafford.

Yeah, surprisingly the DL was allowing them to run pretty well too. Enough to keep our LB's honest on 2nd downs.

We certainly lost both LOS.
