Nice assessment Rings! I totally agree, and am excited for Trey!

Oh....hes not even a good game manager now ... despite being 31 and 15 and going to two championship games in 3 years.

It never stops in the web zone.

Good game managers generally don't throw picks

no one is arguaing hes an elite QB. But lets show some appreciation for a player that got us to two straight NFCCG. His limitations is why were moving on but stop being so ungrateful and show some grattitude.

All i gotta say is if Lance doesnt make it to this stage next year i feel bad for him because this fan base is full of whiners who dont really think critically and only by emotion

I guarantee you. Only morons will be criticizing Lance after 1 year, or 1 or 2 games. In fact, they are already saying it. Saying next year is "playoffs or bust" for Lance.

I mean first off, we don't even know what this roster is going to look like. Remains to be seen if they're even going to retain most of their guys in free agency. So already, you got these people that hated Lance from the get go putting pressure on him. It is what it is.

thats my point. I mean people are win here calling Jimmy G a horrible QB who cant win. A lot of our fans ( and i think this is true of most football fans) are completely emotional and arent the most critical thinkers

Most people are calling Jimmy what he is: a limited, average QB who does just enough to keep BOTH teams in any game.
Them scoring more points than us is the real reason.

LOL, that's honestly one of the most fitting descriptions of Jimmy I've ever heard.

They were selling out to stop the run on 1st down. They played standard defense outside that. I don't have the stats, but if you check our 1st down runs vs 2nd down runs the difference would be GLARING.

Imo this was on shanny not throwing enough on 1st to push em back.run after run into 5 down linemen. We were always 2nd 8+ - against an elite defense it ain't gonna work...

We had man or 3 deep looks all day on 1st down an shanny refused to attack it. We run 1 fade vs it and aiyuk cooks the db, never go back. We had that play all day on 1st

I wonder is JG not allowed to check it to pass in these fronts? Or does he have that option and choose not to? To me this is why being multiple is so important. I preached all year when folks were clamoring for 40+ runs a game that sometime this season that's not gonna be working and we will have to pass to win. If you are dependent on doing your one thing and they take it away...

To me Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle those guys win on routes and in one-on-ones should be able to feast.

honestly i don't know. maybe kyle is too controlling? no clue. but the throws on 1st down were there all day. a fade to aiyuk is a quick 3 step drop, can't even blame pass pro there.
if i had to guess, mine would be that with rams playing 5 down on the line on 1st down, he hoped that if we broke the first level, we could get a housecall on the ground. but it never happened. i am not even saying abandon the run, but at least throw on HALF the 1st downs, a couple of big completions and they would have been forced to back off.

Great posts I like this stuff man. We will be back and better than before believe it.
I was actually rooting for this win.

Trey usually got sacked for the same reason Jimmy did: rookie-level defense reading.

Well the implication was that he doesn't suck, but rather he has a knack to both lead you to a game winning drive and also a knack to throw game losing passes or passes that put the other team in position to come back.

He's barely a rookie level QB so makes sense.

Also the defense completely letting the team down.

I wouldn't say that. Endzone INT. 7 points allowed in 3 quarters. Thomas didn't get enough depth on the 3rd and 13 TD. Tartt dropped the INT. What you see on both is Ryans had his players in the right spot they just didn't execute on these two plays. Holding the Rams to 20 is pretty solid. No one let us down mate proud of these guys.

Ya the defense was not the issue. Offense as a whole was the bigger issue. OL, Kyle, Jimmy, run game, that was the deciding factor. Asking defenses in today's NFL to play like the 2000s Ravens is impossible. 7 points through 3 QTs...Offense should've had the game put away, they did not play complimentary football.

Yeah this thread has it completely correct. We are a ground and pound physical offensive club. 20 carries for 50 yards is ballgame right there. Done and dusted. Maybe Trent was compromised with the injury. I mean with the best LT, best FB, best blocking TE, Eli healthy, Deebo healthy, how on earth we run for 2.5 per carry is beyond me. Forces the game into JG on obvious pass downs going into a D with HOF players at every level of the D (Donald, Miller, Ramsey).

I think Kyle let the whole bully ball get to his head. He called such a vanilla game, it was very unlike him. It was basically just lineup and run the ball up the middle.
