What the op mentioned is why the QB cant play the way he does, the further you go in the playoffs, your strengths are countered and your deficiencies bubble to the surface. How his issues are masked, our schemed and manufactured offensive plays plus the running game, couldnt bail him out. Therefore you have 3-9 passing with 39 yards and a pick in the fourth quarter, when we needed a QB to make plays.

Add to it, we must get a home run hitter on offense, rather it be Lance blossoming, and/or a number one WR who we can lean on when we come up short on our bread and butter, the running game.

It has to be the QB. Jimmy left a few passes on the field that could have been scores. Whether it's Trey or not, we need an upgrade at QB. Jimmy is a great guy and a leader in the locker room, but just not what we need in the field.

We are a power rushing team. We run over people and control the time of possession. We are a much more powerful team when we run well. The power running sets up the throws for the 49ers.

Rushing

Samuel 7 - 26 - 3.7 average. 0 TD'S.

Mitchell 11 - 20 - 1.8 average. 0 TD'S.

Jimmy G 1 - 4 - 4 average. 0 TD'S.

Juszczyk 1 - 0 - 0 average. 0 TD'S.

Grand total 20 - 50 - 2.5 average. 0 TD'S.

I guarantee you it's not what we did in our 6 - 0 run vs them.

No way in hell the 49ers were going to win a game like that. That's what we did rushing. All game long. The way we are built it was our best chance.

We have our way with other teams in the run game. That's how we do it.

The Rams made the adjustments. They stacked the line and punched us in the mouth in the running game. In the 6 - 0 previous we didn't fail this bad against them running.

If you told me these would be our final rushing totals at the beginning of the game I wouldn't even believe you. It's how we lost.

No ideas from shanny to slow down endless run blitz from mcvay or lafleur. Refused to call play action.

The 9ers need chunk rushing plays. The last three games could not generate more than 1 or 2. No screens bubble screens misdirections. Jet sweeps nothing

shanny did not use the pass game to put the run blitz on its heels. No ideas. We need a big boy pass coordinator to help shanny complete his game planning.

Our rin game sucked against dallas green bay and los angeles.

Is that on jimmy?
The offense hasn't been able to run for weeks. 2nd and long all day.

And when the run is obviously being stuffed, apparently Kyle only has 15 yard routes after that.

No short easy routes on 1st downs like Stafford had.

Rams 2nd and 3
9ers 2nd and 11

Our run game won us the game against Dallas lol GB neither offense could do crap in that weather.
We were a player or two short at certain positions. That happens when you try to build for the future instead of bolstering a ready to win now roster. We have the same amount of 1st rounders as the Rams in the next two drafts, difference is they went for it now and we didn't.

Helped Stafford that we have the CBs that we have.

They were coached to give 10 yard cushions.

Better hope that Trey is the one. If he's not imagine what we could have gotten for those 1st picks and probably have a SB or two already.

Did you watch the game? Play actions were called, screens were called, WR bubble screens were called, the one to Aiyuk where jimmy threw it at his feet comes to mind. I honestly don't get how fans that watched this season unfold can sit here and say Kyle is the problem with a straight face. There is plenty of blame to go around for this loss but to lay it at Shannys feet is bonkers. I think people will be pleasently suprised with how different (in a good way) this offense will look next year with a QB who looks to push the ball downfield consistently.

K'wauns a good nickel but my goodness is he bad in man to man coverage. Fingers crossed Lenoir takes a big step up next year.

Yep. A package like that gets you pretty much anything except a few upper echelon starters on good contracts and it hit us a qb who is so raw he couldn't beat out a one armed Jimmy G.

We'll we don't know that about Trey yet. We are all hopeful though.
Well, with all that assessed about how the Rams efficiently adjusted to take away our strength, we barely lost, not to mention up by 10 in the 4th. Just inside their territory, the 4th and 2 play was the killer (of course the Tartt drop, too! That is unforgettable).
