Helped Stafford that we have the CBs that we have.

They were coached to give 10 yard cushions.

Because our CBs cant handle man

Football can be hard to understand at times.
The reason the Rams won is because the Rams finally learned how important ball control and a short passing game works. I knew when I saw them have a 97 yard drive and look dominant we were in trouble. The 49ers looked like the team who got out coached and looked tired. We couldn't execute our game plan. Rams did and they were much more efficient. Game over!

We'll we don't know that about Trey yet. We are all hopeful though.

In his very limited playing time in the NFL he has shown that he looks to push the ball downfield more than jimmy. But that isn't everything of course and ultimately his success will come down to being able to operate Kyles system from the pocket. I have high hopes for the kid but yeah he still has a lot to prove.

You mean the rams actually executed a game plan that said we will not allow you to run and will force Jimmy G to beat us?

the right side of our line was weak sauce. They were all over it.

They couldn't execute that game plan for a 6 - 0 run against us. But they did tonight. So what changed so dramatically?

Because not every player is gonna execute perfectly every play....that's when you need your stud QB to do his thing. We don't have that.

We ran the ball better against them in the previous 2 regular season games but some of that was just bulk and controlling the clock. Offensively the Rams moved the ball the entire game, converted a sh load of 3rd downs, and kept a pretty fresh defense.

In the last game the Rams lack of ability to run the ball themselves bit them in the @ and they locked up the 2nd half.

and Stafford's TOs, which almost bit them in the ass again if Tartt comes down with that.
Won't be surprised if Jimmy goes to a good team and is routinely in the playoff mix.He has demonstrated he can get to the game in the right conditions.I feel we need more bang for our buck.Overall a very nice season considering what we had to work with. Its gonna get good, real soon.

No s**t they looked tired, they had one home game in 6 weeks and been in playoff mode for 12 weeks straight. At some point you need your highly paid QB to make something happen in the playoffs, the D and running game weren't gonna get him the W this week and the Rams dared him too. He missed open reads throughout that game. It's not all on Jimmy and there's plenty of blame to go around but man their were plays left on the field for sure.

IMO he's Alex Smith.

Here it is guys.

We are a power rushing team. We run over people and control the time of possession. We are a much more powerful team when we run well. The power running sets up the throws for the 49ers.

Rushing

Samuel 7 - 26 - 3.7 average. 0 TD'S.

Mitchell 11 - 20 - 1.8 average. 0 TD'S.

Jimmy G 1 - 4 - 4 average. 0 TD'S.

Juszczyk 1 - 0 - 0 average. 0 TD'S.

Grand total 20 - 50 - 2.5 average. 0 TD'S.

I guarantee you it's not what we did in our 6 - 0 run vs them.

No way in hell the 49ers were going to win a game like that. That's what we did rushing. All game long. The way we are built it was our best chance.

We have our way with other teams in the run game. That's how we do it.

The Rams made the adjustments. They stacked the line and punched us in the mouth in the running game. In the 6 - 0 previous we didn't fail this bad against them running.

If you told me these would be our final rushing totals at the beginning of the game I wouldn't even believe you. It's how we lost.

Nobody was talking about it? Hah it was glaringly obvious that we couldn't run the ball and that's why we were struggling.

QB play was key differentiator in the game. Our defense played well limiting Rams to 20 pts. The offense couldn't move the ball when it needed to.

I got nothing but respect for Jimmy and he played a part in getting SF to a SB and NFCC. I think there's a limited ability there and it was pretty obvious throughout the playoffs. Let Kyle get working with Lance and we will see what a QB with top end traits can do on this team.

Alex Smith fetched us two second round picks...
