What improvements need to be made?

OL is the biggest one IMO. You don't make a massive investment in a QB the way the 49ers did with Lance and then throw him out there with subpar protection. The entire right side of the line needs to be replaced, especially right guard. If Banks isn't that guy then they need to bring someone in that is. If you're going to be throwing a young QB out there, you need to give them the confidence that they will have time to go through their reads and find the open receiver. Above all else that has to be the priority. Give Lance everything he needs to succeed.

After that, CB and edge rusher. Better depth at CB, even if you bring back someone like Verrett, as well a consistent edge rusher across from Bosa, someone that fills the role that Dee Ford was supposed to have filled. The pass rush was great at times and then fell off because outside of Bosa and Armstead it was a bunch of rotational depth guys. They need at least one more consistent pass rushing threat that can take advantage of all the attention that gets paid to Bosa.

Do you consider MM as a part of the right side that needs to be replaced?
Start taking special teams seriously. Get a new coordinator and someone that can actually return punts and kick offs. Get Cordarrelle Patterson. I wanted him last year. He has some similarities to Deebo and scored 11 touchdowns last year. He also has 8 career kick off return tds including one in 2020 for 104 yards.
Don't we need a decent backup to Lance....?

Tyrod Taylor, Nick Foles and Andy Dalton are all veteran options that should be available and shouldn't be too cost prohibitive.

Tyrod would be optimal
Upgrade the secondary. Their best cover corner is coming off another injury and it's unsure if they'll sign him again. Jimmy Ward isn't a kid anymore. He'll be 31 next season so they at least need to think about a possible replacement. They need to start getting more coverage sacks. They need some more speed and size to contend with all the good receivers in the league now. They can't keep relying on te D line to do all the work.

I'm surprised it took all the way to the Rams game in the NFCCG for a team to figure it out... but the way to neutralize the pass rush is to just beat the 49er CB's in one-on-one short/medium situations.

But perhaps other teams haven't been able to execute it, because there actually aren't a lot of teams that can run the ball well and play that kind of gameplan over the course of an entire game. But Stafford could do it in that offense with OBJ and Kupp. And... actually, our offense could do it too.
Should trade MM. That would clear $10 Million in cap space and we already seen that we could win without him. We actually did better without him. Counting the playoffs the Niners were 9-3 without MM I believe. But I don't think they will do that because of where they drafted him.
Where's the "Upgrade Coaching Staff" option?

Oh ye, and how about the "Draft someone with a pulse in the the first four rounds who can legally buy a beer" option?

Exactly. And I'd prefer to have a mobile QB as a backup. A style of play the OL and WRs have acclimated to.

Tyrod Taylor would be a great fit

Outside of Hightower, who exactly would you like to upgrade? The head coach that has just taken us to 2 NFCCGs the last few years? Or his coordinators that are interviewing for HC jobs? Maybe you're referring to position coaches like Kocurek and Welker? Nah, we good there.

Need to stop losing.
I have a bad feeling we gonna give Banks and Moore a tryout next year at Lance's expense. Hopefully they are ready. We can't run Compton and Burnskill back out there.
