What improvements need to be made?

I'm afraid I have to agree with you about our punter. This guy came advertised with the possibility of booming 70-yard punts. I don't know what happened, but somewhere along the line he lost his confidence. His punts kept getting shorter and shorter.

I don't think the 49ers will be replacing McGlinch at tackle. Then again, I also didn't think Trent Williams was worth the money at left tackle. I was wrong about that one.
I think the Niners have more needs than people realize.
- O line
- Secondary
- Special teams
- Deep threat

We also need to find an edge opposite Bosa and hope that Kinlaw can contribute next year. We're gonna need to hit it out of the park in the draft, as well as the Jimmy G situation.

That's a good assessment - I think we can address all those needs with the draft and free agency. It's going to be a fun offseason.
A very good CB
A Guard/Center as long as he can play both positions
A very fast wr that is a return specialist for the love of s**t!!!!
A DE
The number one need is STILL high grade edge opposite bosa. That will make cbs look much better. That will get us back that 2019 vibe.

Then ol ol ol ol.

An impact safety would be nice not a need.

I feel like we should get the best of which position is available between CB and DE.
OL, DB, ST Coach.

Not really. What if it's a game that the pass rush isn't getting home? We need guys who can cover. What if the refs aren't calling holding? you ok letting another team complete a 3rd and 15 b/c your db's mess up the coverage? Not me.

This is my thought process as well. Holding seems to be called much less (and has been like this for some time) during the playoffs. I want a solid DE, but I think going into next season with what the 49ers have at DB is risky. It's far too thin. Give me OL for Lance (and, because it needs upgrading regardless) and then a DB. That doesn't mean I think the 49ers should neglect DE, just don't neglect DB in favor of DE.

Corners are for more important to our future success imo. We can find ways to manufacture pressure.

I could not agree more we need to be able to cover better when the pressure just doesn't get there.

Own 2nd (61) - Cam Thomas; DE - SDST
Own 3rd (93) - Leon O'Neal; SS - Tex AM
Comp 3rd (McDaniel) - Verone McKinley III; FS - Oregon
Own 4th (132) - Matt Araiza; P - SDST
Own 5th (171) - Sevyn Banks; CB - Ohio St
Broncos' 6th (for LB Jonas Griffith) - Jesse Matthews; WR - SDST
Comp 7th - Max Borghi; RB - Wash State
Comp 7th - Dohnovan West; OC - Az State
Comp 7th - Jalyn Armour Davis; CB - Alabama

So you were completely ok with OL play? Folks there's a reason why Kittle has been relatively quiet this year; he was doing a LOT more blocking to cover for Compton who's playing out of place at tackle. That depth is horrible if we're asking a OG to play tackle. It's like thinking a secondary is okay by asking safeties to exclusively play corner.

You NAILED it NinerGM!

But at the same time, if the option is great defensive end, or good corner, I'm not so sure it's an easy choice.
Kyle and John know which positions need to be upgraded better than anyone. I just hope they're in position to draft players that can help at those positions. You never know when that player you want is going to get snatched away one pick before your turn. Then you have to quickly turn to your next choice at that position or decide if it's better to go to a better player at another position.

If onlt the draft was as easy as the mocks are.

It's an arms race, SF versus LAR. LAR will have Kupp and Robert Woods so the 49ers need to counter. The division in general has very good WRs and it would help for the 49ers to have some good CBs. It's time to have some balance between assets allocated towards the DL and the DBs. Both CB and Edge can use upgrades but if it was an either/or situation, which it's not, I'd choose CB.

I wonder if the team is content with letting Thomas develop, Lenoir replace K'Waun, and Moseley keep his spot. That doesn't sound exciting, just wondering if the team will be patient with their youth at CB.
