What improvements need to be made?

More speed at WR, CB, depth at OT

Kyle had to run the ball to protect the Oline and Jimmy. We see the results when the Rams knew we absolutely had to throw the ball on the last drive. Oline depth.

Need speed on the passing game to match Trey's arm; guy that can stretch the field, create space, and threaten the defense. Basically creating weapons outside the numbers.

CB might already be on the team, but they need to develop further and need more depth.

I don´t think there is a lot of things missing in this team.
More than anything, they should build on the second half of this season for next year.
Ultimately, this 3 and 5 record after 8 games put the team in a bad spot. It was win or die every week after that.
It was a really stressful situation for them.
We certainly need production out of our draft picks… that would be a good start…
then we need G/C, nickel DB and CB
we were lucky the rams didnt put 30-37 points on us with all their dropped passes on O
this DB play was toast
We won't win without a superstar QB.

We have been trying to do it without a superstar QB for over a decade and it hasn't worked.

We are the Buffalo Bill's of the 2000s.

Either we get a superstar QB somewhere, or we continue going home early

Biggest offseason priorities (from most important to least important):

1. Trade Jimmy ASAP so we can get started on developing Trey as the #1 ASAP
2. Sign a veteran corner that would be a starter on this team.
3. Extend Deebo
4. Address right side of OL.
5. Sign veteran QB to back up Trey.
6. Retain as many free agents as possible, address holes accordingly.

Honestly 1 and 2 might be enough to get this team over the hump. It really all comes down to if Trey can be any sort of upgrade over Jimmy and how soon.

This hits everything.
There's a reason the passing game and running game sucked. The frigging OLINE. Alexmmack SUCKS. Compton SUCKS. Brunskill SUCKS. The qb situation has already been addressed.

1. The oline
2. The oline
3. The oline
4. The oline
5. Secondary

trade jimmy now get as much as you can
get cb and rt help
As I see it, the priorities should be as follows:
  • DB
  • right side of the OL
  • edge rusher to compliment Bosa
  • back-up TE who actually has playmaking ability
  • a true KR/PR
  • jcs

This.

Both cost us the game yesterday more than any other position group.
secondary help (slot DB, boundary and SS), keep building the OL (not sure what will happen with McG's injury), need a legit burner and ST guy. Keep building the DL and get another edge that can compliant Bosa.

There's work to be done, but overall SF is in a good position for some time as long as Lance turns into something.
1. O line
2. edge rusher
3. secondary
1) Trade Jimmy asap. It won't happen though. They'll try and wait for the best offer and maybe dabble into the idea of playing him in 2022

2) Impending free agents:

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/san-francisco-49ers/

DJ Jones, Tomlinson, and Jennings would be my priority. I don't love Laken, but its very hard for Kyle and John to find decent offensive linemen apparently. Tartt is going to be too expensive, so just let him walk. I also think this fanbase massively overrates K'waun. Not saying I wouldn't want him back if the price is right, but I'd personally be a little stingy with the price tag if he asks too much

Verrett, well, it was a tough injury. I just don't think we can take that risk again unless he wants to come back super cheap. I think we should just end the experiment. Same story with Mostert.

the rest, I couldn't care less what we do. Seems like replaceable talent, especially defensive line. I'm sure Kocerek can just coach up some other guys that can play at a high level. They should look for upgrades at premium prices for CB and OL instead of bargain bin shopping at the dollar store

At this point, I wouldn't be shocked if the team looks completely different next year
Well QB forsure, but i have faith in Lance.

Otherwise i say safety as for once I'm happy with the CB's we got. I like the future to be Moseley and Thomas.

But i've been saying our Safeties needed an upgrade for 5 or more seasons.
