Rodgers costs way to much money. The Packers won't trade him here. The Packers are going to want multiple first round picks and players for the back to back MVP.
We missed on Manning. We missed on Brady. I would hate to miss on another championship hungry veteran elite QB
I'd love to get Rodgers. But his cap hit is 40 million or something like that. And the Packers are gonna be looking for a kings ransom. So keeping Lance would probably be out of the question.
i dont think Rodgers is hungry to win
The day before the game he complained for 30 minutes on ESPN about being cancelled and silenced
League MVP. 2 years running

No thanks.
Trey should be better in this offense.

In this order.
Because no matter who you get at corner, if the offense can't translate defensive stops into points, it's only going to do two things (1) tire out the D because TOP is far too lopsided with the opponent and (2) give way too many opportunities to opposing offenses to score in a pro-scoring league.
Without sustained offense, we will never have a D that's good enough to win the big game every single time.
This is why I wasn't pissed last night.
It's like I've accepted the fate that we cannot "DESERVE" a BOWL until we have a top flight offense, and that requires a very good QB no matter how great our TEs, WRs, and RBs are, and how smart Kyle is.
Just how it is. I don't make the rules, don't love them either........just a reality of NFL life in 2022.....predating Jim Harbaugh's arrival to the team. Seattle and Denver were exceptions this past decade, but otherwise you needed a guy who can make plays.
If Jimmy had the ability to make off schedule plays at least 50% of the time (instead of like 10%), then that alone could have won us the SB 2 years ago, and probably this year in LA.
His pocket play was pretty good but Kyle tends to shut him down late in games when tight, then expects him to air it out when desperate. That's kinda unfair to the guy.
If Jimmy goes to a semi-stacked team that lets him throw more, I think he might see possible championship success.
But not on the 49ers with Kyle.
Great post, particularly liked the bold

Sounds like a plan, and maybe throw In a CB too.

Re-signing Laken Tomlinson has to be pretty high.
CB - Bring in some competition and make Ambry Thomas compete for a starting job. I don't expect K'waun Williams to return so add NB as a position of need as well.
ER - Nothing against Ebukam but we need another edge rusher opposite Bosa. Hopefully Dee Ford retires but if he doesn't he should get the post June 1 designation.
Wr- We need some vertical speed. I'm pretty confident we're going to take more shots down field with Trey next season so add a speedster that can make safeties regret stacking the box.
Punt Returner - How many different guys did we have to use this season? I honestly lost count. This needs to be addressed.
BTW I would like to keep DJ Jones and Arden Key but it depends on the price.

Not voting in the poll because there's no single area that stands out. Here's what needs to be addressed (not necessarily in order of urgency)
QB - Backup to lance must be addressed in free agency (Dalton?)
RB - Hasty (ERFA) will be back. Mostert will be gone. Wilson will test the market. We should be drafting a RB every year day 3. Cook, Pierce, Price, White, Badie and Smith are on my Senior Bowl watchlist.
TE - Dwelley will test the market. I don't think any significant draft capital or cap space will go to a 2nd TE.
WR - Jennings (ERFA) will be back. Need a deep threat to take the top off defenses. This should be done in the draft. I'm looking at Watson, Doubs, Austin, and Turner in the senior bowl.
OL - We are stuck with McGlinchey. RG and LG are open and can't be addressed in the draft. Jimmy cap savings need to go to signing TOmlinson and a starter at RG (daniels from chicago???). Pick a versatile backup on day 3 to compete with mckivitz/moore/banks. I'm keeping an eye on Ingram, fortner, kinnard and paul at the senior bowl (high hopes for ingram).
DL - We need a speed rusher to put across from Bosa. It sucks so bad that Ford couldnt stay healthy because he's perfect. I'd put an early pick into this need. I hope DJ comes back, but we're probably gonna get outbid. Hurst, Key, Williams, and Street are all UFA. I imagine 1-2 of them will be brought back. I'm sure there will be 2 vet signings for cheap that can help fill out the depth chart.
LB - Alshaair (RFA) will get a 2nd round tender. DFF (ERFA) will be back. Harris will be allowed to test the market, but i think he'll be back. They are good at finding LBs day 3/UDFA. Not too concerned about depth.
DB - Tartt, verrett, kwaun, norman, and johnson all UFA. Shockingly, I think Johnson is most likely to be back. Need to come out of day 2 with either a starting nickle or safety (or someone who can play both). Ultimately, we need to get a starter for the secondary out of free agency. IDK whether that starter will be a safety or corner, but we need a capable veteran for this. Can't rely on the draft for this.

First and foremost, obviously the QB position (Jimmy G) and the Offensive Line SUCKS and needs upgraded getting over scored in the SB and yesterday in the 4th quarter. TREY will take over. They definitely need to replace and upgrade who ever isn't a good player or probowler on the Offensive line through the draft or free agency because other than that they have all the weapons they need on Offensive already in place.
On defense, add more talent in the secondary CB position if they can get a legit #1 CB go for it, as well as more legit pass rushers.

Hasty should be cut, he is a below average player. He failed so many times this season including the tip yesterday that turned into a int that ended the game. Mitchell or Wilson should have been in the game on those plays yesterday.

We definitely need to address the KR/PR!! Must address though the draft

We need a new punter. He has not lived up to expectations. He sucks.

Draft a running back? Joe Williams and Trey Sermon..this team will waste picks drafting rbs because they cant draft. This team lives by the run which is why we need a monster star in the backfield, yet the ineptitude continues.

Everything hinges on the organizations choice at QB. If this team was in the rebuilding mode it wouldn't make much difference. The QB could be discarded and on to the next one. However, with a competitive team in place, not knowing what you have at QB wastes the franchise in the immediate future if he doesn't pan out. I always thought it was impulsive to make such a move.
