Just heard how Josh McCown was a finalist for the Texans HC gig. Pretty impressive he made it that far without having a professional coaching position beforehand. Shanahan seems to love former players as assistants and it seems they have grown into good coaches. I forget if McCown and Shanahan's careers intersected in Cleveland or not, but they must be familiar with each other. Would be an interesting addition to the offensive staff.

No, they didn't checked, McCown was in CLE in 2015-2016, Kyle was there in 2014.

Bobby Turner is thinking of retiring? I know he's 72, but
Gotta groom his replacement now. BTW, did anyone know that Reuben Droughns (played under Turner in Denver) was an assistant coach in Serbia? Team won two European Championships as well.

See if Frank Gore is interested.
This. Bring him in now as an assistant RB coach if Turner decides to go another year. We can do the one day contract so he can officially retire and everything.

My coach
Bep stackward.
of course you say that
This is the setup ever since we hired Shanahan as the head coach anyway. He's the offensive playcaller and everyone else just part of the game planning/preparation, no matter their title is. It's not going to change so it's not like we're bepping stackward.
Coach has to mind offense, defense, and special teams. We've floated on d for a while. -- no extension for saleh. --Unless shanny brings in a senior guy for the back 7 well drift in 22, again if he starts doodling xs and os instead.

I love Frank but has he had any experience in Kyle's system, or something close to it? IDK

Frank doesn't want to coach. He wants to be in our scouting department. He's said so many times.

Vegas was seen as a potential landing spot for Joe Judge. He still has a lot of options, including HOU and NE. (And SF?). https://t.co/WvBgTYXvJh

Why? Just because he was a great RB does not mean that would translate well to coaching. Love him to death, but Frank doesn't strike me as the intellectual type.

Kyle and Lynch must move ASAP to hire him.
#Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy's contract is expiring, per sources.

So after getting passed over for head coaching opportunities again, Bieniemy could either return to Kansas City or be a hot free-agent OC target elsewhere.

Then put him in the scouting department. A lot of top end players don't do so well with those jobs because everything came so naturally to them but Gore is the kind of grinder with crazy football IQ that he could be successful at either coaching or scouting.

Chiefs fans have been saying tor awhile that he might leave if he doesn't get a HC job.
If he leaves KC, I imagine he'd want to go somewhere to call plays and show teams that he can be the guy. Moving from Reid to Shanahan is too much of a lateral move.

Bring Darren Rizzi!
Now Bisaccia has to dye his goatee green.
