Am I missing something? I was going to give you props for noting Turner could come back after a year off like before...and here we are!

But as to Lynn being a RB position coach? And running game coordinator? Both?

Why do you need a "running game coordinator" half the league doesn't even have that position...it was basically a made up title to keep all these young assistants (and give them a raise).

Lynn will be in charge of the RBs and be part of the running game conversations. Why is that some wild thing?

I agree. The title "run game coordinator" was only given because Shanny didn't want an official offensive coordinator. It's basically a fake title.

Not even remotely true esp. here. Juice confirmed that it was Mike McDaniel who masterminded our diverse running game...and it was Kyle who worked with him to formulate weekly game plans. Anybody who's paid attention knows how expensive and diverse this running game has evolved into over the years.

I don't think we see a drop-off in the run game next season. I still believe that Shanny is the true mastermind behind it.
Shanny / Deebo created "wideback" position......now we need a position coach (fake position name) for that

Not that Mike didn't have a sizeable impact on what we do, but I'm inclined to agree with you. I think a large part of that was Kyle promoting his long time lieutenant, who otherwise may have been overshadowed with Kyle being an offensive minded Head coach.

OMG stop it...Juice is giving McDainels the old pat on the back out the door saying good job. Where do you think McDainels learned the running game from? The Shanahans.

Anyone who's paid attention to the running game of the Shanahans for decades understands who's the real "mastermind" behind all of it. I'm not saying Mike had no part in it, but he LEARNED it from Kyle and his dad, not the other way around.

and It's all well documented that Mike had an alcohol problem (went to rehab while in ATL). Mike is Kyle's boy and he did everything for him to get where he is now....for sure Mike is a smart football mind, but that running game was built by the Shanahans over the course of decades, let's not get that s**t twisted. Mike Shanahan was running this running scheme when McDainels was trying to get autographs at pre-season games as a kid.

Exactly.

LOL. That's great. Unfortunately, we don't run just outside zone. No doubt McDaniel has helped expand the running game well beyond that. We even drafted dudes more built for gap and power and IZ as well. They expanded it as a team and Mike clearly, was a big part of it. Will there be a drop off? Maybe...I'm more concerned with Kyle having to now spend more time on that aspect of game planning while also getting 10 new coaches up to speed.

If you think there will be no effect, I disagree. How much? Hopefully not much but I certainly saw a drop off last year with less turnover.

That's a different topic altogether but that's very possible too. Let's hope you're right.

Agree with everybody here. I'll just add that Papa Shanahan can step in (if Kyle calls him) to help get the newbie 49er coaches up to speed in the run game and whatever else they need for 2022.

Yes because the Shanahan's NEVER ran anything but OZ lol.

how the hell do you know if Mike had anything to do with expanding the run game? Based off what…his time elsewhere without the shanahan's?

I didn't say there we be no affect…I'm saying the offense is based off OUR HC not stoner McDainels.

Boy I guess we should have fired Kyle and made McDainels the HC based off some the crap being talked about here…unreal lol
Damn, our RBs are snake-bitten. Even the RB coach got injured.

1. I watch 49er games and have seen the run game expand from predominantly OZ to one of the expansive run game in the NFL
2. Because Juice straight up explained his role as a running game coordinator
3. Kyle promoted him

What exactly did you think he was doing here all this time? LOL

Lynch confirmed with Maiocco the massive coaching turnover and the real reason they aren't in Indy is because KYLE is training all the new coaches right now instead.

So yes, this was my concern realized.

In a year where I want Kyle free to focus on Trey, he's already working O.T. just to get his staff hired and up to speed. Hopefully they'll be great though.
