Just like the Rams will be in contention the next few years. Hard to say our model is better when it hasn't produced us a SB. Pats are the only dynasty over the last 20 years. Packers have been in contention for 10 years with nothing to show. I'd rather have a super bowl after 10 years. To me there is no set way. Do what you have to do to get 6.

The Seahawks had a loaded roster and had Russell Wilson and then had him signed long-term. They fell back to earth. They've been a playoff team for awhile, but I don't think they've been a legit contender for awhile. It's ultimately just too hard to be among the top 4 teams if you don't draft well. I presume the Rams will fall off from being THE favorites after next year.

We should still be in contention for a Super Bowl next year. Trey just needs to take it one game at a time.
I'm not sure the rams in its current incarnation is even a realistic example of how you can mortgage the future for a chip, because LA also got OBJ and Von Miller almost for free. Unless you're the late 2010s warriors or the current LA rams, you're not gonna be able to get all star talent for peanuts. Mortgaging the future for a chip now usually ends up with disasters like the Philly dream team.

Rams rolled the dice on all their free agents, it worked out, but usually it doesn't.

Is "Super Bowl or Bust" and we don't have the luxury of time to wait for Lance to be ready. Call Tommy now, mend the fences and get him to suit up in red and gold. That is the only way out. We have to make a legit Super Bowl run now before the window closes.

If Trey lives up to his potential our window is 15 years

Trey will get the job done, Rascal. Have faith, bro.
are we like the 76ers? "TRUST THE PROCESS" ?
I think this franchise is in great hands with Shanny and Lynch. Looking forward to next year!

Agree. You have to draft well for long term success. Drafting well, involves a lot of factors - number one is that you have to have a good coach that can develop the players he drafts. The fact that the Rams have had to trade their high round draft picks for proven veterans, is a sign to me, that they are unable to either find the talent they need, or unable to develop the young talent they got. That's a recipe for long term disaster. And I mean *long term.* Once a team starts losing, they will jet zone their coach and start a coaching carousel that might not end until the ownership hits some luck and basically lucks into a good coach that turns the seasons around.

I've seen that personally with George Seifert. He won two super bowls, one by basically keeping the Bill Walsh personnel together for another year, and his second super bowl was the Rams model. Then a decade of mediocrity and cap hell followed by bad coach after bad coach until Harbaugh finally stabilized the franchise for a bit until they fell and then Jed lucks into the ShanaLynch regime and finally we have some stability and some prospects for long term success at (possibly) the dynasty level.

Stick with the ShanaLynch process model, it's gotten them to the Super bowl and the NFC CG game two out of three years that this model has been implemented. If not for injuries to Trent Williams and possibly Mike McGlinchy, we'd be appearing against Cinci in the 2021 super bowl and probably would have beat Cinci, if Trent and McGlinchy was able to stay healthy for the whole of 2021.
isn't always Superbowl or bust? i mean come on what tf are we trying to do here?
EVERY year you play to win the Championship! Whether its Lance, or they do something else at QB you make adjustments to win.

That's possible. But it's also possible that they draft well and keeping being a contender. The Rams aren't Seattle. Seattle is more similar to the niners than the Rams. I don't recall Seattle making a ton of trades outside of Adams. They have been more draft and develop over shipping out picks for big names. They just didn't hit well enough on the picks they had. Chiefs paid Mahomes and are still gonna be in contention over the next few years. they have done a solid job drafting around Mahomes. It's the exact same boat we hope that Trey puts the Niners in. It will be on the FO to draft well around Trey once he earns his payday. If they do we look like the Chiefs. If not we will look like Seattle. Even if they fall off after next year, that's a strong 3 year window with a championship. I wouldn't complain about that at all as a fan. I'm sure Bucs fans aren't mad that they only had a 2 year window and won a SB. We have had a strong 3 year window with a 2nd place banner. If they could make one trade to give us that chip. I'm all for it. Hopefully we made that move last year with Trey and all this will be moot
The way I see it, Trey doesn't have to do a ton to produce similar results to Jimmy last year, so we should maintain our contender status as long as we maintain the talent on the roster.

I just hope Ambry Thomas coming on late doesn't trick the FO into thinking CB will be fine. We need a legitimate number 1 CB. Shanahan needs to call McDaniel and get Xavien Howard.
