Yeah, a very interesting background for a guy who is going to coach tight ends. I hope his Linebacker/Defensive back experience helps the TEs get better. His QB experience might help Trey and the TEs to work together better. If anybody can prepare Trey being blitzed, it would be a former QB who is coaching the QBs hot read (usually its a TE) on most downs.

It's somewhat common for former qbs to coach all different positions early in their career. I'm pretty sure Freddie Kitchens coached tight ends early in working his way to a head gig after playing qb. Although he was always built like a tight end

I'm so surprised with this. I mean I don't think Emery was at all special. I mean kiddo was kiddo before the NFL. And he hasn't produced anybody else. But this guy is 90% defense in the NFL cornerbacks and linebackers coach

Looks like Fleury feel into the defense from a defensive back start in college and has been (so it seems) on defense up until being promoted by Kyle. I'm pretty sure Kyle can coach the TE's since he knows pretty much every offensive position on the squad, if Fleury isn't up to speed on TE's. It's a long shot but I'm still hoping Joe Staley will be willing to coach the OLine. I'm thinking Scangarello will be promoted to Offensive Coordinator (or take on the duties of an offensive coordinator - if not named officially) and I'm hoping a talented offensive coach from college will fill in at QB coach. Wide Receiver coach is still vacant, Assistant OLine coach is still vacant, and I haven't heard of Bobby Turner even hinting at retirement.

Staley as an assistant oline coach would be epic!

One because he's a 9er legend. But also that according to this article:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2021/08/16/why-its-hard-to-copycat-the-shanahan-style-offense-daily-cover

There are not a lot of coaches who can teach OZ because to run it you have to commit to it being your core, you can't just have a few plays and make it work - you're all in, or you're not.so of we can get Joe who knows it as a young guy on the staff, bodes well for the Future

Staley on the coaching staff, Gore as a scout, make it happen.

Unfortunately I think he's going to be more of a Talking Head than a coach. I think Staley's career is going to follow along the same track as our old Fullback Michael Robinson who's a talking head at NFL network.
