I think the plan is to work him in at RG next year, and move Burford to right tackle.

Nah if Burford was looked at as a RT he'd be getting OT reps. He hasn't gotten one. He's out RG moving forward. The RT of the future isn't on the roster right now imo.

Poe should be getting reps at center as well.

The problem is that Shany has never really committed to competition at RT over the years. Why? McWiff is not a perennial starter by any stretch and yet there has been very little push to, at a minimum provide a viable backup/potential starter.

Are we still trying to justify McWiffs 1st rounder selection?

So now he is hurt, with potential lingering issues. That position should have been a wide open competition starting day 1 in camp.

How about this one GENUS49. Can I get a star rating, a like maybe. Thumbs up?

Its a contract year and we most likely will not resign him. Those who have filled in for him in his absence haven't shown squat and the others who could fill in have missed time due to injury as well.

Agree...it's been an ad hoc approach with no focus.

Its not because he is clearly better

He is not worth a top 10 pick even assuming he didnt have injury concerns but overall when he plays he is an above average RT

Not at PP.

I do agree!

I really really want to see Brendel, West and Poe play at center this preseason. I think Brunskill will also be fine at center. I don't really want to see him though. I think Brendel, West and Poe are younger and physically more talented than Brunskill.

My ideal situation. Poe (and I know he's a developmental player) wins the starting Center position, and we can trade Brunskill for a extra day 3 pick in the draft.

Has Poe taken any reps at Center this offseason? I thought I only saw him at G. Think Brunskill, Brendel and West have gotten snaps at C if I'm not mistaken

Correct. Only at G.

That is dumb

This team is obsessed with moving players to different positions when they get here. I agree. He should be in legit competition at C.

He could be taking all of the snaps at practice after the media leaves.

This is the player that I have been pulling for the most.

Yeah i was wondering why he hasnt gotten any time at Center. If we want to put the best 3 IOL out on the field, that could very well by Bank, Poe, and Burford. I think his short frame and quickness would be best served at Center too. He looks to be smart enough to handle the position and his instincts are top notch for the ZBS

Poe has all the physical tools to be a center, but don't think he has the experience yet to make all the line calls and other decisions handled by the center. Not a knock, just something to think about.

I very much appreciate these videos. And that somebody is doing all my work for me so I can just watch and analyze.

PS: I rewarded all of Jordan Mills snaps here too. Not as bad as I first thought. He seemed to get dinged up a tad but played every snap of the game. That's a sign they really wanted to evaluate him. But if they are turning to McKivitz now, that's not a good sign for him making the 53.

I'm a little surprised that Donovan West didn't push much for the starting Center Job. There seemed to be quite a bit of articles naming him a very underrated signing because he was projected as a day 2, day 3 pick. He's been underwhelming to this point.

I don't think he's as bad as you do.

I'm all for competition there. I also don't want to move Burford around if he's looking like a long-term starter at RG

I believe his screen name is dedicated to Carlos Hyde, correct me if im wrong. He went by El Guapo on social media.

I think though that Poe will 100% make the roster. The question will be when he will start. I think Banks will get the nod even if they think Poe is better because the value knowledge of the system more than raw talent. But injuries are unavoidable when it comes to this team and he will get his shot at some point. I just dont see many other lineman our team beating him out for a spot. Burford and Poe are going to be on our line for a long time! They exude everything that Shanahan wants in OGs. Quick and fast, with enough strength to hold their ground. They both look so natural passing off rushers too, like its second nature to them.

I always thought it was from the Three Amigos.
