No idea why this curiosity keeps being repeated, but it's not exactly like he was a 4 year starter @ Center with plenty of experience. They're probably trying to get him on the field and get some experience:

I think we're in the same place, I'm not expecting him to start at Center this season, but I thought we'd maybe hear reports of him taking some snaps there with the 3rds in training camp.
It may be in the next couple of years we see him there.
