Kyle wants someone with experience at C. C is the one calling blocking and protection scheme. This, I doubt we will try Poe at center any time soon.
That is why Kyle had Brendel and Brunskill compete at C at training camp rather than any of the young Guards such as Banks, Burford, and Poe.

No idea why this curiosity keeps being repeated, but it's not exactly like he was a 4 year starter @ Center with plenty of experience. They're probably trying to get him on the field and get some experience:

He struggled to make it on to the roster of a team that is desperately seeking interior OL help. People might be overrating him just a tad. He makes for a pretty strong practice squad candidate to continue developing his body and skills.
