Am surprised that Sermon beat out Hasty

Draft status. Not always right but that's the main reason.

Hasty missed six games in 2020 and six last year. I don't think there will be a lot of interest in adding him to an active roster. Put another way, if he were on another team and got released, I doubt many here would be excited about picking him up with his injury history.

Poe seems like a guy who will get tons of practice squad interest, but suspect he will be back here. Both are calculated risks but seem reasonable to me.
Anyone know how this works as far as practice squad goes...is it completely upto the player where they sign or does waiver status play a role in a team saying, we suck and hes ours and must sign with that team?

if he gets claimed that team owns his rights but has to put him on the 53 man roster

if he clears waivers his existing contract is gone and he gets to sign with whoever he wants
I'm surprised we kept Zakelj over Poe. Maybe Zakelj was more versatile? Seems like Poe was only lining up at RG, I believe Zakelj played both guard spots and even took some snaps at C in TC if I'm not mistaken

Hopefully we get him back to continue learning from Trent Williams

I saw something saying Shanny sees Zakelj as the center of the future.

It sounds like this may be the case be he didn't play as well as Poe.

I think he'll make the PS. He's short, but he's good.

HOW bad did he perform in training camp?

Which WR was kept?
This guy is yet another Marcus Rush, an offseason champion. But he is a project, and doesn't belong on a 53 roster. Only losers like Grant believed he would take Aaron Banks job.
Poe and West should sign in the PS, which at the end of the day is just an appendix of the roster. From what we know Zakelj made an stronger push and earn it, besides he is a draft pick. If Poe was as great as people claims he'd have stayed just as Jordan Mason did on a crowded backfield.
Great move to waive them, if they are back good, if not whatever.

Exactly, there are fans on 31 other draft boards doing handwringing saying "I CANT BELIEVE WE WAIVED HAROLD FALTERMEYER", "HE WAS THE BEST PRIORITY UDFA"

Meanwhile, dude never plays in the NFL ever again

Maybe not at guard but I do recall seeing positive reviews of what little he did play in preseason. If they think Zakelj has better potential at center then that's it.

Poe did not look better than Banks or Burford no matter what people want to believe.
