if he does leave, I have ex-49er QB and draftee in mind... KEN DORSEY

Worked out well for Andy Reid going from QB coach to head coach.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a year away from HC. Could be hired right now as a OC and could even be a reach HC now.

I don't think anybody knows what Steve will do, if they don't ask him. There is also Jeff Garcia and Drew Breese (as examples) of other players who can develop into being a coach under Kyle - *if they want to* become a coach. Point being, I think Kyle has the coaching gravitas to attract top of the line QB coaches to his staff considering he's done very well with the offensive staff he's developed or has been connected with. If any coach has any ambition to be in the NFL or be a top level coach in the NFL - they can't go wrong by being on Kyle's staff.

As a side note, Steve Young, and Manning *love* Kyle's offense. For what it's worth.

I *do not* wanna see Brian go. I don't think Steve would be interested. I don't see Brees or Garcia either, though Garcia, I see being more of a possibility than the others. Damn Brees would be awesome though, haha one can dream.

Neither do I. But the way teams *constantly* poach coaches from Kyle's squad, you have to simply *assume it* even if it's a low probability. Better to be prepared than caught with the trousers down, so to speak. Now if they *don't* poach Griese then you're stronger because you have a list of coaches you can monitor or develop outside of the team for the future. (Example - the minority coaching fellowship)

Didn't garcia lobby to get a coaching job with Kyle at some point?

Absolutely, I think Garcia would be a great coach.

It's up to Kyle to figure all that stuff out of course. But Kyle's dad has some good coaches too in the bullpen, so to speak, with the QB Collective coaching company his dad runs. If not Steve Young, or Jeff Garcia, there are other NFL players and up and coming college coaches that should fit the bill also. Alex Smith, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Ben Rothlesburger, Kliff Kingsbury etc... I am NOT saying any of these guys will want to coach or be any good. These are just names I pulled out of a hat, so to speak. It's the job of the GM to look into these guys and see who would work out and then start the process of developing them somehow if someone catches the GM's eyes. I.e. you don't wait till Brian is gone before you look for his replacement.

He's 62 years old though.
Our qb coach
Weird, I had read Griese was happy being the QB coach and hated the grind, now he is interviewing for OC spots?

I think he's actually looking to advance at some point to being a HC.

ah, ok. Well god speed. I would like some continuity for Purdy so hopefully hes around a few more years. Maybe Kyle will expand his role here if he doesn't bounce.

Kyle's only going to have 2 days off after the Superbowl because he's got to replace a whole new staff again. #Burnout

Kinda weird having a guy be your OC with zero play calling experience and only two yrs of coaching under his belt.

Well it worked for the Texans with Slowik. But I agree. I guess nobody is really fighting to work under Dennis Allen.

Owners and teams should have assistants from their teams work with USFL affiliate teams as higher position or different positions so they too gain some experience. I have no idea who owns these teams tho, but imo the NFL could benefit from a "minor league". A ton of players and coaches would benefit from it and it would increase the quality of the game overall. Even referees etc. Good place to test out new ideas and or rules folks aren't so sure about as well.

I believe a few ex head coaches from the nfl are over there (Mike Nolan lol), but imo that's like last gasp stuff so I would rather see young bloods looking to move up etc. I'd love to see if as a league to grow talent overall.

Mike McDaniel didn't call plays and got a HC job. It happens.
