lol people seem to forget how dire our situation was at CB last year. For f**ks sake we were all actually grateful DONTAE JOHNSON was playing. We made it to the NFCCG with those DBs and our defense was solid throughout. Now imagine if Verrett can stay healthy with Ward on the other side.

Young guy who has improved year after year. 11th highest paid CB with his new current. I can live with it. Great underrated signing. I thought we did a good job covering Chase in the AFC championships, given that its Jamar Chase who I think is going to be best WR in 2022.

And the Chiefs constantly get away with that. It's nothing new. But won't happen for him here.

Too bad the 2 times he faced a real #1 in Ja´Marr Chase he got destroyed.
Now he only has to face Kupp, Hopkins and DK twice.

Some Chiefs fans quotes:
"Ward is actually super underrated. He was our CB1 for pretty much his whole stint with us. Fantastic in man coverage with his length, people bring up the Chase game, but that man is a freak. I was really hoping to see Ward back in KC, it's a good signing imo for SF."
"He's a CB1.5. As long as you guys play a ton of man you should feel good. His game against Hopkins a few years ago really stands out to me. He fought him all day and then mossed him for an INT."
"He's a little inconsistent, but has been a really good corner for us for a few years now. Quite an underrated player, and almost never talked about. Imo a good bit better than Carlton davis, and he got more money."

Absolutely. Those numbers are insane. Hopefully he can maintain that level of play or get even better!

This is the first thing that came to mind for me. He was never on my radar, gotta hope for the best now.

Not a bad signing. Frankly I'm glad they went with someone younger than Gilmore who's probably exiting his prime.

"Not elite, but very solid. Chase made him look worse than he is because it was solo coverage, but when we played them in the AFCC Chase had hardly any impact at all thanks to bracket coverage. He can solo most receivers pretty well. Chase unfortunately ain't most receivers."
Chase had 6/54 and 1 TD in the AFCC. Hardly domination, Higgins was the main target that game. He's also shut down Diggs several times…unless Diggs is no longer considered a #1?
