A guess as far as the 49ers' plan at CB for '22: Charvarius Ward and Emmanuel Moseley are the starters at outside cornerback. On nickel downs, Ambry Thomas enters on the outside and Moseley slides inside. (The 49ers did this with Carlos Rogers and Chris Culliver in 2011).

Eek. Moseley is not very good inside. Really struggles with quickness and laterally IMHO.
The game is changing some though, teams are using bigger slot guys now. Mosely would've done a better job on Kupp than Kwuan. While I agree he might struggle some with the quicker shiftier slot WRs.
And don't sleep on Lem, he showed that's hes definitely got the athleticism to play the slot, he was just raw.
True. I'm more focused on the NFCW. But perhaps with more focus on the slot Moseley will get better too but to me, it's one of those positions where you want a specialist and 100% focus because it's such a different skill set and focus from outside.
Agreed, K'waun has been great, but I get he's been more dinged up and getting older. I would still love to have him back a few more years.
