He was on Instagram asking if he should wear 2 or 35. I voted #2.

35 is ugly on a CB. he should use 24 since Williams is gone

Physical, good tackler, good size, and young. I'm really happy and hopeful of this signing.

I hope Demeco lets him play man and follow our opposing teams best WR every game

Yeah, I'm very curious how he'll use them.

He really only had 1 great season. I'd be a little hesitant to start using him like he's prime Revis. You have to put the guy in a position to succeed.

This. I kind of favor the putting the best corner on the number 2 guy and double teaming the number 1 receiver approach.
Full terms on Ward's deal, I was first to have them, couldn't tweet them or write till Aaron Wilson tweeted them out, if those who don't believe me, check dates of my post from the 18th at 10PM EST ish.

Think he said #2 because he wore it in college. Guess we will see soon

It wouldn't be him just starting to be used that way though, more a continuation of what he was doing in KC and he progressively got better doing it. To me, putting him in man coverage is putting him in position to succeed as he's better in man than zone. Of course if he struggles eliminating the opposing #1 consistently then we pull back on that and find what suits him best, that goes without saying, but as of now he's without question a better man coverage guy
He did an absolutely awesome shutting down number one receivers last year

Yeah he wasn't shadowing the number 1 receiver when he was on the Chiefs so I don't know why people want him traveling here. Just leave him lined up on the left side here.

Demeco seems to want having his better CB playing RCB, the less targeted side. Don't have much data to go off, just that Verrett was playing RCB while EMan played LCB.

Then a bunch of injuries happened. Then Eman played RCB with Ambry at LCB. Assuming EMan was better than the rookie Ambry at that point in the season.

I was a big fan of when we were doing the field/boundary coverages. Verrett is a major chess piece that makes that kinda D possible though. But it seems like we may be moving to more man coverage as that's the ebb and flow of the NFL.

MONEY He got paid and folks will assume he's a number 1 CB that will travel and lock down whoever

I'm all for trying it but the film doesn't back up putting him isolated on the #1 receiver. He rarely covered the #1 threat and was often covering the #2 guy.

I want to say there's more man coverage because of the increase in RPO usage but not sure about that. I don't think we got to see what DeMeco really wanted to do last season with the CBs due to the early injury to his best CB (Verrett). At no point did DeMeco use field/boundary alignment so I don't think he's bringing that over from Saleh, but again, there were so many CB injuries last season it seemed like DeMeco was just trying to piece it together week by week.

Yeah Meco and the secondary were held together by duct tape last year so this year will be interesting what they want to employ. I'm excited to see what his plans are for Huf and our very young secondary.

Kudos to the players and especially Ryans for piecing it together on the fly much of the time due to injuries.

I'm stoked that he got his rookie DC season out of the way, future looks good with him (until he takes a HC job).

Not really worried about departures or not signing big names, secondary looking better already and I don't think the dline will take a step back.
