You sure about that? I'm not one that just shoots from the hip here if that comment was directed towards me since I'm the one wanting him to CONTINUE travel here. I know that you know CBs, so I assume you know that what separates the elite guys from the pack is the ones that travel. Turn on the tape, he played both sides and indeed traveled. Again I will say that I would like to see that continue here, see if he can be one of the elites, no harm in continuing it with his trajectory. If not then lock him down at one spot like you said.

Nah I wasn't saying it in reference to you homie I wouldn't go after you like that. It was that tweet that said he shuts down opposing #1 receivers and I went back and watched each one of those games and he was rarely covering the guy they said he shut down. Technically yes it was correct he didn't allow Keenan Allen a single reception he also only covered him 3 times. I said I'm down for trying it I just don't see it on film so when people are overly confident he will shut down Hopkins, Metcalf and Kupp they should re-evaluate their expectations.

The article in that link says he traveled specifically for that matchup versus Claypool. wonder if DR will let him travel more? Or just see how the match ups go on a per game basis.

Got it And yeah I agree with you on that one, that tweet is deceiving, he most definitely wasn't lined up across those guys the entire game. I did the same, watched those games on NFL game pass to see how he truly fared against the top WRs faced and while I do think he played damn good overall, he did line up against the #2 more often than not.

Yeah he's a clear upgrade to what we had last year I just am not holding my breathe we have someone who can remove a #1 receiver from the game plan. But honestly even Ramsey can't do that

There's probably only one team that does, and no my friend, Jaire is not walking through that door.

I'd settle for Verrett.

Appreciate that objectivity.
I'm curious how we're going to use Ward against the Rams and Cooper Kupp.
They put Kupp in the Slot a lot, and run a lot of formations to try and isolate him.

I feel like, we couldn't figure out how to deal with Kupp in the NFCCG on third downs.

My guess is CWard will play right CB and will cover whichever WR lines up across from him. Slot CB will be very important when trying to match up against LAR because of how they use Kupp in the slot.

I'd settle for Verrett.

Do you think Verrett will be able to come back again?
It would be great if he could.

Have we signed him?

Leg injury for a 30+ CB is hard to say tbh. Not many miles on his legs though. I'd say it would depend on how he looked during a physical. But if we can get JV we should cause when healthy he's still better than anything we have or can sign.

Didn't they bring Jimmie Ward down in the slot a lot vs Kupp?
