Agreed, loved the Ward signing, he's gotten better & better each year, and I think he can be the teams' #1 CB for years to come.

Is he a top 5 corner? Doubt it. But he's very solid.

Luckily he'll look like a top 5 CB playing behind the best front 7 in the league.

if TOP 5 for the next 3 years then money worth it... if he's JUST our #1 CB for the next 3 years, well, no wonder KC did not give him crap... considering all the QBs in the division ALONE..

I think any CB is going to look better playing behind the pass rush we've got. So I try to look at just the player, and not the situation. I think he fits our scheme very well. He's improved every year he's been in the league. I initially thought he was a penalty machine based on some things I read, but after looking more into that was way overblown. The only thing I'd like to see is more turnovers and big plays from him. But that being said, there have been a LOT of times the last couple of years when just a deflection on 3rd down would have been game changing - AND I think this is what he will bring to us. Now when you factor in the pass rush, it's even more ideal because his length can really mess up some quick passes! If Verrett can get/stay healthy and the rookies look as good as expected, we may have so much depth at the position that we have to let a decent one go.

We have 2 top 20 cbs in Ward and Verrett and a top 40-50 cb in Moseley so we are finally set at cb. Ambry improved as the season progressed but still gave up way too many tds. Still if he's out cb4 we are in great shape.

Agreed. This Is looking like the best group of CBs we've had In quite sometime.

I'm still not sure what to expect from Ward but hopefully he becomes that number 1 we've been searching for, Or at the very least an upgrade over what we currently have.

I can't call JV a top 20 CB until we see how he looks after this injury. I think Ward with Moseley/Thomas make a good outside tandem. The slot tho?

I love the Ward signing. An ascending 26 year old CB. I love Verrett but anything we get from him is a bonus and to me unexpected. I feel good about Ward/Moseley starting and either of them sliding inside to slot with Ambry Thomas as our 3rd corner. Hoping he continues to improve. I also like that we have improved depth at the back end of the roster and some practice squad prospects to develop longterm. We're gonna have to pay Moseley next year and it somewhat shocks me Ward wasn't given a longer contract with void years on the back end. After watching WR money explode, CB won't be far behind. 13 mil for a #1 CB is a bargain. Ward doesn't need to be top 5 to make this deal a huge value.

My hope is one of the young guys shocks us and gives Thomas competition and a 4th guy we feel good about. And again JV healthy would be a pleasant surprise for me.
