Niners sign CB Charvarius "Mooney" Ward

Do this with the pads on, in pre season, regular season, playoffs and Superbowl and now we're talking!

But "super" encouraging start.

It's early, but initial reports suggest a great FA signing !

Yep... When you see how PFF positively graded him with the Chiefs, and you see his skillset... he fits our defensive scheme well and he has a superior surrounding cast here. IIRC, Chiefs fans spoke well of him. I'm expecting him to do very well and earn some Pro Bowl votes.

Demeco Ryans was working with a very thin CB group last year, and we still did very well. I'm hoping for good things here.

Don't want to get ahead of myself, but I said this was a great signing, no need to overpay for a Gilmore who's older when you have a younger player in Ward, who has gotten better & better each year, excited to see him out there, still upset only a 3yr deal lol.

You're right my man! I forgot we had Davis in '94. It's sad that it's been that long when all we had to do is trade for a great one or possibly use a top pick on one which we hardly ever do.

I didn't know much about him, but love the fact that the WebZone loves the guy. I'm going to be watching him closely in pre-season.

Seen a interview with MM,all the guys,coaches call him Mooney. Sounds like he studies a lot and he loves the locker room vibe with all the player's talking with each other instead of position groups concentrated together. The only thing he said during the interview I disagreed with was "me and all the CB's can create turnovers and get ints" I have confidence that he will more than double that stat on ints but he better teach the rest of the secondary how it's done 😂

Josh Norman was straight trash in all areas last year except strips,that is the only positive thing he did and it rubbed off on other player's, once Norman was benched for good those punch outs all but stopped. But I think Mooney's gonna be Moneeey!
