According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Ward allowed the lowest average separation on targets (2 yards) and second-lowest completion % among DBs (45%), among DBs with min. 50 targets in '21.

They're not worried, because he will be traded . And if for some reason nobody wants him at all, then he would just be cut to save all that cap space.

Not really feeling this. Would've rather thrown money at Chandler Jones and/or Gilmore. At least he's young.

His best football is ahead of him. Has gotten better each year and this past season he was turning into a #1 CB. Great attitude, size and toughness as well. This is a very good signing fellas.
We now have 3 quality cornerbacks who are young... Ward (25) Mosley (26) and Ambry Thomas (21)

Let him play some snaps before we write him off. Ward continues to improve his play, and he fills a clear void opposite of Thomas.

I think if Ambry Thomas keeps progressing he will get the other starting outside corner spot. WIth Mosley as a possible Nickel and backup CB.

I hope you're right. If they get Chandler Jones I'll be very happy. This defense with Chandler Jones will be a Super Bowl winning type defense.

He's 6 years younger than Gilmore and he outplayed him in 2021. Ward actually outplayed a ton of corners last season, ranking pretty high in most coverage stats. So he's young, physical, good in coverage, and probably the best tackling corner in the league. This is a massive upgrade if he continues to play like he has or if he keeps getting better and better.
