Hufanga (90.7)You can make a case that the 49ers have the best safety room in the NFL after two weeks. Talanoa Hufanga is the No. 2-ranked safety in the NFL in PFF grade. At the same time, veteran Tashaun Gipson comes in at No. 4. The issue for the 49ers is that their cornerback room has been very mediocre to start the season, and they don't have the cornerbacks to match up with the best receivers in the league.

Am I missing something on their CB take? Makes no sense to me.

ya theyre playing well the PFF scores may be low because of some penalties im guessing

we havent really had any bad secondary plays apart from some backyard b******t granted we havent been tested yet but against weaker competition its what you want to see

PFF has probably gotten a bit full of themselves at this point. I mean they have their grading system and that's fine. But it's not as if they have big question marks at corner like they're saying. Moseley when healthy is a solid starting corner. Ward is being paid as one more than that.

Are Lockett and Metcalf not two of the best receivers in the league? Okay Lockett went for over 100 yards. But Metcalf was shut down and their offense scored zero points.

It's kind of like advanced analytics in baseball. I love that we have them but you can't live off of them and presume that they tell you the whole story 100% of the time.

Their grading system seems to get more criticism the longer they go anyway.

Bro, I agree, it seems like they just do it out their ass. Ward & Moseley have been great, Mooney is worth the Money we paid him.
Oh, and did PFF watch the 2 games, they pretty much shut down both teams WRs, DK did nothing, Lockett too. Sure Pettis had a nice TD, but blown coverage or bad read.

Probably because he has given up 7 catches on 11 targets for 93 yards over 2 games and was credited with giving up a TD in CHI.

I was going to point this out . It's only been 2 games, but so far, so good.

Who is he?

Neither TD in Chicago should be placed at the feet of a corner.

9 catches for 107 isn't bad

C. Ward is he and that is the way pff graded it.
Can somebody help me out with "Mooney"? I hadn't heard that nickname before this past weekend. They even put it on the scoreboard after the pick.

Mosely Is actually better than some fans give him credit for. Arguably the most underrated/unappreciated player on defense.
