Ward is great. It's so refreshing to finally have a DB that turns his head and locates the ball.

Since he changed his name to "Mooney" I am now changing his name to "Money Mooney"

If he continues to play at a high level like he has done so far, he'll be asking for a lot of "Mooney" come contact time .

The only play I didn't like was the deep shot to Metcalf. There is no way that ball should have been caught. If not for penalty on their O lineman being downfield, that play could have energized their team and completely shifted the momentum. But yeah, dude looks like the real deal.
Twenty fn seven.

Bet he blitz good too.

I hope some of you guys who've been sucking our none playmaking safeties nuts over the last few years realize what some of us meant when we've been saying we need playmakers.

Having playmakers in the secondary is icing on the cake imo. You need guys who don't blow coverages and get beat deep first and foremost. If we can have both well that is more than one could ever ask for.

True. It's like Ward and Tartt were allergic to making big plays. I can't even remember the last time we had a ballhawk in the secondary. We might have 2 now.

His name was Tony Parrish! Also, I enjoyed Walt Harris during his tenure here at Corner! Let's hope Mooney Ward can keep up the great work! Love watching him play with that skill set at DB!

I think we already gave him a lot of "mooney" lol. Now, he has to earn it. But I do like his swag.

I think it's fair to say he's earning it, shutdown corner, he & Moseley are a great tandem, need to extend Moseley ASAP.
Like what we see of him out there each & every week so far! Go Ward!
definitely earning his money and I hope it keeps it up! I saw a stat from the broadcast saying something like only giving up 43% of something to receivers when hes the closest defender which leads the nfl since 2018. Wonder what that fully said now.

I saw that too, not sure what it is now, but he's been improving every year, great signing by the 49ers in the offseason.
he's not a revis type lockdown corner but man he is dominating. he is completely filling the richard sherman role but 7 years younger. Has a PD every single game. And man does he want to hit you.
Remember last year when it was the Norman / Dre Kirkpatrick show early on?

Ball puncher was a needed, albeit very polarizing corner for us. Gives up big plays, then knocks the ball out and totally redeems himself
