Where do you rank the 49ers/Packers 2021 Divisional Game?

Shop Find 49ers gear online
So this is kind of an informal survey. Because firstly I think:

1. Where does it rank among the all time 49ers/Packers playoff matchups?

2. Where does it rank just as 49ers playoff game for you?

Generation rules here right? If you were a fan in the 70's and 80's. It factors in big time.

As a fan since 92 and only in my mid 30's, those in my generation have a whole different set of playoff thrills and heartbreaks.

1. I always rank the 49ers/Saints divisional matchup as number 1 for a lot of reasons...I was at Candlestick; it was the triumphant return of SF to the playoffs; it was insanely dramatic.

2. Right behind it is Young to Owens finally getting GB off their back.

3. Despite being in Atlanta when SF beat the Falcons for the NFCCG in 2012, I think I put SF/GB 2021 here. Putting Rodgers to 0-4, the way they did it. The snow, no offense..you name it. This game was an absolute dandy.

I'm sure this will shuffle around but regardless of how it shakes out, I think that SF/GB divisional game this year will go down as an all time classic for me.

Where do you put it?
I rank it as the #3 SF/GB playoff win behind the 2019 NFCCG demolition and the Catch II. Maybe even #3 behind the Kaepernick 200 yard running game.

They had our number in the 90s (95 NFC Div, 96 NFC Div, 97 NFCCG) but we've gotten a lot of revenge in the past 4 matchups vs Rodgers (The 2 Kaepernick/Harbaugh wins and now the 2 Kyle Shanahan wins). We also had that playoff loss in 2001-2002 @ GB with Jeff Garcia. That's the one that got away, we were driving for the winning TD and Garcia threw a pick on a deep pass to TO when he was open...just left it short.

If this last game in 2021-22 had propelled us to a SB win or even appearance, I would rank it above 2019 because there was more drama.

I actually find the 2019 Week 17 win @ Seattle as one of my favorite all time wins. Last game of the season, last play of the game, down to the 1 inch line. Just a fantastic end. It wasn't a playoff game but really it meant the 1st round bye and #1 seed.

I could rattle off about 10 heartbreaking losses in my life as a 49er fan...

1. 2019 SB loss vs KC
2. 2012 SB loss vs BAL
3. 1992 NFCCG vs Dallas
4. 1993 NFCCG @ Dallas
5. 1995 NFC Div vs GB
6. 1996 NFC Div @ GB
7. 1997 NFCCG vs GB
8. 2011 NFCCG vs NYG
9. 2013 NFCCG @ SEA
10. 2021 NFCCG @ LAR

We've lost so many NFC Championship games, it's crazy.

1. Owens catch 2 game (1998)
2. Kap game (2012)
3. Mostert game (2019)
4. Willis punt block game (2021)
5. Brown grass game (2013)

After the 1997 playoff loss I never dreamed that we'd win 5 of the next 6 playoff games against GB. Brett Favre was harder to beat than Russell Wilson.
I think we should have won. That blocked punt cost us the game.
NVM. Read title wrong

Love this list but would swap 3 and 4. We knew the 49ers were better in 2019 and pounded them in the regular season. The playoff game in January had to be gut wrenching for a Falcons fan.
It's the two biggest names in the NFL history. Sure the Cowboys and Steelers are big to. Can't put the Pats because they are still new and cheated its way for 4 SB wins. But the Packers and Niners are the biggest games. Biggest fan bases into the biggest tv ratings. This game was in the snow. This game showed Jimmy G is better then Aaron Rodgers. Our defense is the best. The was a classic. They have wars but this game has to be our top 6 playoff game ever. The 3rd best in the rival series.
Amazing how much discount double check has choked against us in the playoffs. No more Davante Adams now...

Thats fair, you just dont see a team dominate like that in a title game very often. We went in expecting to kill them because of the previous matchup, and we followed through. The punt block game had a great ending, but it was one of the most boring, frustrating games ever for like 90% of the game.

Great post but the Roger Craig fumble game is the #1 heartbreaker. If you went old enough to see it just think of the Kyle Williams fumbles but from a Hall of Famer and killing our three-peat. Really killed the rest of Joe's career.

Rodgers I think is better than Jimmy G.

Yes, I was too young for the Craig fumble game but I hear a lot about how it was the most painful of all the playoff losses. I can't imagine what that was like and then add on all the other losses we've endured. I do remember this being Joe Montana's last real action as a 49er. I remember he came in and played a half for us in 1992 I think on MNF to showcase him for trade purposes basically. We've been successful as a whole but we've probably had as much heartbreak as any other team as well (except maybe late 80s/early 90s Bills).
