Shouldn't be paying "special team studs" and was he even that good?

they have a million day 3 picks. If you're incapable of running down the field and tackling someone, you shouldn't be in the NFL anyway.

the rules are making guys like him not matter at all. So we're basically resetting the market for STers and FBs cool

Ya'll some haters and I highly respect all 3 of your opinions in here. All pro STeamer and yeah he was good or he wouldn't have the label of being one of the best in the league if he wasn't. Great veteran presence to have in our young safety room as well with Gip likely done. You guys do bring up great points though and I can't really argue any of it being wrong so

If you're going to have the top special teams player in terms of salary; wouldn't it make sense that player is a kicker, punter, or returner?

He's not that good. Mostert was a far better special teams player. And there's a ton of safeties in the draft.

Surprised you're saying this. UP TO 10 mil WB, he's an absolute stud on special teams and good to have in our young safety room.

Where? When? Why?

Has he galvanized our coverage groups to be elite? No. He's not even a gunner.

He has 22 solo tackles in his two years here. Zero forced fumbled.

He's not supremely fast. I can't remember a single hit of his that set a tone.

WHAT THE HECK ARE PEOPLE SEEING WITH THIS GUY?!
Why? A bit lost on this one.

Can you guys at least wait for the contract details before you flip out.

This once again looks like a 1 year deal, his cap hit will probably be around 3-3.5 mil this year at the very most.

Sad that Chris Conley is who I think of when it comes to our Special Teams

The amount of homerism from a guy that's suppose to report on a NFL team is just wild.

He's like the inverse of Grant Cohn.
this seems like a lot of money for a ST player. maybe i'm tripping

they have a million day 3 picks. If you're incapable of running down the field and tackling someone, you shouldn't be in the NFL anyway. Draft a player that can do that and possibly develop into a position player. Waste of more $$

I agree. Filling in these type of positions with draft picks is the way to go and saves big on money. It's just not worth the small impact. These type of contracts add up

Yeah they're both ridiculous an obnoxious

Yup. I don't care if it's like $3M a yr or whatever it ends up to be. Overpaying for what? Why do we have to constantly be the ones who are resetting the market at positions like that?

overall this FA has been junk imo. I don't need stars everywhere, just make the team better and overall you can't say they've done that.
