Special teams as a unit was trash, even over the secondary (who just had no real depth and average starters). So the team addresses special teams. They are setting themselves up for a BPA kind of draft. Still will need some other guys, but with 9 picks they can presumably draft 3 rookies that will fill some of the other holes.
I wonder if they are all in with Hufanga as the starter.

He's not the fastest but he seems to know when to break (take advantage of that closing speed)....not bad at all
Good character, very coachable, another team first guy, for sure good depth but maybe future starter. I can't not like this move

I think Odum will be more than just a ST ace...only time will tell for sure, but he has the tackling abilities, no doubt about that. My first thought was this is it for Tartt. As for Hufanga, I don't think he'll take over for JT. His pass coverage needs a lot of work. Maybe Odum and Hufanga compete and the best man wins the job. There's a talented bunch of S in the draft, too. I noticed all 4 guys signed so far are in their mid to upper 20's. They've cut their teeth with other teams and may take the next step w/the Niners.

I was thinking the same. It's not. And strategy addressing the weakes think which was ST and then doing bpa, but imo we still need an edge, oline and secondary lol

Meanwhile…wtf are we doing in Indy?

How did we let George Odum walk?
One of the best teamers in the league and played well in spot duty at Safety. I don't get it 🤦🏿♂️.

Who? Might as well have signed Lamar Odom for all the impact he'll have!

When Butler makes those comments ^^ you know we got a gem. Barring injury, Odum gonna be a much needed help.
Awesome job ShannaLynch

I keep seeing fans and players upset about losing him. They have plenty of cap space but aren't doing much. Lol again people mad at lynch but the great Ballard is receiving little backlash.

I see a role for both depending on matchup, both pretty good players but in different ways

He's good based on everything everyone is saying but that's a lot of $$$ for a ST player…
