$11 mil for a Special Teamer. No way.

Worth up to $10.95M, so that means it's max of $10.95M with incentives most likely, likely $1M a yr, so it's likely a 3yr $7.95M deal, $2.65M a yr deal, that aint bad for a ST Ace & a guy who can play SS if needed.

Thanks AB…that sounds a whole lot better.

Well, at least the special teams should be WAY better

No question it will be with these additions

Was gonna happen anyways without Hightower

Lol touché

We can be better and still be bad. The signings go to ensure we are good on ST.

So again I'm looking at overall finances. We're saying we can't afford Jones at 10m/year for 3 years but we can afford a ST player at $5m a season potentially?

I struggle with the "we can't afford …" logic.

Who is 5 million a season? I also think they believe they can more easily replace Jones. I don't take issue with that. They do alright with lineman.

Im.more concerned about O-line.

Yeah, and in our system, a $10M a yr NT just isn't something they'd do, I would, cause I'd use him more, DEN likely will for that price, but for us, we rotate 8-9 guys on the DL, as for Laken, it hurts, but I think Banks will be ok, just need to hope we get someone for RG.

I read a tweet from PFF, that appears the 49ers will let Tartt sign with another team. Kind of bittersweet that his lasting image was dropping that INT, but the guy that was late getting over and committed an egregious 15 yard personal foul on the same play is still here.

I dunno about Odum/Hufanga replacing Tartt (assuming he signs elsewhere).

They kind of screwed up not signing Jones earlier. And with Kinlaw making $4.2M and being a 14 overall pick, there was no way they could justify Jones too on top of that. Actually, even AA finally moving to 3T FT plays into that as well as Kinlaw will now have to be a 2i. If healthy. And that was Jones' spot.

LOL.

Ward is going to be the next Dee Ford. He's going to be here even after Dontae Johnson.

I think he's going to get a legit chance to start. Everything I've read is he's played pretty good when given the chance but hasn't really been given the chance to play a lot.

My guess is they will bring in a rookie and Odum, Hufanga, and the rookie will compete for the starting job.

Lynch doesn't seem to value his safeties as much as one would think considering his background. It's kinda like that throughout the NFL though.

I read about this guy (whenever his number was called for safety), he had ZERO miss tackles when in the box
I think if the Niners somehow find a way to get a 2nd for Jimmy they will use that pick to draft Pitre.
Just read the interview with Odum. Okay. Sounds good. You're "the dog". But just know, when you come play safety here, you're stepping into big shoes; Ronnie Lott, Lance Schulters, Tim McDonald, Eric Reid, Mel Phillips, Jeff Fuller, Chet Brooks …. You might hurt yourself but you damn sure better hurt somebody else.

Now you're here. The challenge is before you. Go earn it ….. "Dog".

In his introduction presser he said he's never played safety until he got to the NFL

I read that too earlier and thought how he was just thrown to the wolves in a pinch. He was used as a LB in college too. He loves to hit....

It will
be Moore/Hufanga replacing him

I think that may have been the play Ward hit Beckham late and drew a flag but not sure. No it couldn't have been actually but someone tell me what play that happened on? It was kind of a ticky tack call if I recall but we always seem to get called for those at the worst times
