Well Floyd (in theory) is the best dude they've had opposite Bosa. Except for those3 games FOrd played after the Chiefs fleeced us. Oh yeah, speaking of Chiefs. ol Kingsley is dominating training camp. *Sigh*

The Kansas City Chiefs have been breaking in their newest players at training camp and one rookie who has made an outsized impact during the team's workouts is second-round pick Kingsley Suamataia, who is fighting for a starting spot on the team's offensive line.

Suamataia spent a lot of time on the field at BYU, with 1,342 offensive snaps played and just two sacks allowed over two seasons with the Cougars. The young offensive tackle gained a reputation for being able to play at both the left and right tackle spots and had no problem manhandling opposing pass rushers as a collegian.

Watch Suamataia's sheer power as he holds off veteran defensive end George Karlaftis in this training camp footage that was posted to the Chiefs' official Twitter page:

Sorry, I find it best to confront these personal frustrations straight on rather than avoid them. Still mind boggling why they made that trade.

The 49ers recent success on the field resulted in them having picks at the end of every round. In 2022 their first pick was the 87th overall. You can find good players anywhere but the chances are slimmer the later you pick. Everyone knows that so it shouldn't be surprising that the Niners are often left looking at their 3rd or 4th choice because teams ahead of them took their top choices.

They took a chance when they moved up and drafted Trey Lance. It failed and cost them their next 2 first rounders. It was one of the few shots they've had in recent years to try and get a top QB. Unfortunately for them it was a bad year for QBs but thy needed to replace JG because of his injuries.
For what it is worth the picks after Drake have been rather ho-hum, but we still have to give this entire draft class at least one more year.

If true Lynch needs to do a better job of moving up to get to those sweet spots to get the players they really want. I did that all the time with my mock drafts.

Burford was a solid hit for where he was drafted. Jakelj is still on the team. For a 6th rounder, that's a hit. Kalia Davis is another 6th rounder that is still on the team. Purdy turns this from a meh draft into a good one.

Nothing glamourous but considering we had no 1st, it wasn't a horrible draft. Certainly not a disaster. We definitely could have done better with our 2nd round pick and whiffed on our 3rd round pick.

Your mock drafts aren't the real world. We don't know if Lynch tried to move up. It takes a team willing to trade back and teams may be reluctant to make a trade with a team that's already really good. Even when you trade up to target a certain player, another team can sneak in ahead of you a grab that guy.

When the best thing you can say for a guy is "well he hasn't been cut yet", that's not a ringing endorsement. Other than Purdy, not a single guy taken looks like a long term starter for this team, continuing an unfortunate trend of them whiffing on way too many picks.

Eh, Jackson was a rotational player... average to below-average? I'm not sure that is a big step backwards with the additions of Floyd, Gross-Matos, and maybe the development of Beal. I think it might work out ok, at least. We'll see.

When you have one of the strongest rosters in the league, it's damn hard for a later round rookie to make the team, let alone, become a 'long term' starter. Flash back to 2016. How many of these draft choices would have made that roster?

On the other hand, 2023 draft seems like a fairly solid group after one year. We'll see where it goes.
