Drake Jackson is insurance for Nick freakin' Bosa? I'm as high on Drake as anyone but pump the brakes. The guy is super raw at this point in his career. Most of his pressures/sacks are schemed up or clean-ups. Also, he's getting home the most from the inside their nascar package. He isn't consistently beating any tackles one-on-one at this point in his career. If he's going to be the guy, he needs to start winning there. Maybe one day he can become a dude, but he's not there yet. He's got a long ways to go in his technique, rush planning, working a counter, timing, hand placement, etc.

And of course, Bosa is going to ask for ridiculous money and get it. He's an elite edge rusher, and elite edge rushers get ridiculous money.

No, hell no. Not Jackson, not anybody is insurance for Bosa. Looking forward to Bosa being here for a long, long time.

Jackson is our Melvin Ingram.
Love his energy, but I don't want him to keep doing those flips.

I love it. Reminds me of Ozzie Smith.

Can he do it from a standstill? The team has not been able to replace Richie James' celebratory backflip from the victory formation. Maybe Lynch can address this with one of their day 3 picks in the upcoming draft.

You look a bit out of shape
I get what 9moon is saying. It's something we pointed out before the season. Drake's body is underdeveloped, which shouldn't surprise anyone. He's a 21-year-old kid that was asked to fluctuate his weight in college. Another year or two in the 49ers' weight room, and he'll be good.

right he did a lot of yo yoing with his weight in college. He'll have a better feel of where he wants to play and how to shape his body that way after a yer or 2.

Indeed. Horrible take there about Jackson being insurance for Bosa. We keep Bpsa and have a developing number 2 in Jackson. Wish we could keep Ebukam too, but he can net us a 3rd, 4th, or 5th comp. Doesn't truly replace him but its something.
He continues to play very well. Glad to have him.
