It would be nice if our top pick could have replaced Ebukam by now but I guess 2nd round picks don't take off here until the next year (e.g. Aaron Banks).

Something to look forward to.

This dude was one of the top pass rushers in the last draft. He's more than able to contribute now. Hopefully they get him on the field more the next three games. I think he was inactive again yesterday.

He was indeed inactive. It's a tough call because Jordan Willis has been playing really well.
Hyder being able to play outside and inside makes it hard to inactivate him. I'd have Drake active over Willis

It's just an embarrassment of riches. We're loaded on Dline and Jackson has suffered for it. Hopefully it motivates him

maybe it's due to mobile QBs.. i think Drake had some snaps and PD vs Tom Brady

Willis has been fire. We should not take him off the field, need his contributions. But we need to make room for D Jackson somehow.

Honestly, Drake Jackson hasn't been playing well enough to be this worried about it. Not saying he's been bad because he hasn't, but he's not winning nearly enough to be spending this much time on it. The kid is super raw and has a long ways to go in his development.

How do we know this though. How many snaps per game does he get? I think he hasn't been on the field enough to show what he can do.

We know this by watching the tape. He's played enough snaps to gauge where he's at as a player. People forget this dude was raw as hell coming into the NFL. I'd say his biggest issue right is applying a pass rush plan and technique. He freelances with his attack and technical things like getting in a proper wide 9 stance, firing out and hand technique aren't very good at this point. Also, it was obvious from the jump that his body needs a year or two in an NFL weight room. This guy isn't beating tackles with any consistency, so I'm not sure why anyone is so worried about getting him up on gamedays. It's obvious the team feels the same way. Additionally, Willis, Ebukam and Omenihu are all better players at this moment in his career.

All of this is okay and expected. People need to chill and let the kid grow. Again, he's a raw rookie. It's going to take time, but right now, there are multiple guys better than him. The NFL playoffs isn't the time to try to get a guy reps. I think he needs to keep following around Nick Bosa and do everything he does. Hit the weights, get bigger/stronger, and focus on developing his rush plan. He needs to dial in one move then work a counter off of that. Kocurek has everyone double swiping and working power off that. Drake Jackson will likely end up there as well in time.

I guess I'm just surprised this dude was able to have the success he did at USC an in the pac 12 and isn't able to at least just put pressures on NFL tackles sometimes. But we are super deep at DL so all the guys around him are quality an experienced linemen so It makes sense that they are able to do more at this point.

wish he figured things out more this season but he should be great next year after even more experience

The most success Drake has had so far are those money-down rush packages where they manufacture pressures with games/stunts or move him inside. He needs to start beating tackles in 1-on-1 situations to earn more reps, tho. I have faith that he will in time, but right now, he isn't doing that. Again, I'm not saying he's been bad because he hasn't, but there are too many dudes on this unit that can play.
