I'm really excited about him this year. He's gonna prove himself worthy of being an every down player.

I agree. He has good football instincts. We desperately need a consistent pass rusher aside from Bosa. Ebukam was solid but wasn't durable.

Agree. Missing that piece since 2019. Thinking we could rent a vet with proven experience there so Jackson doesn't have to shoulder the load ihs second season. He should play his way into a starting role not get thrown in there in September.

Now that Smith is off the market for about 11 mil, who could we get on our budget? Don't get me wrong hargrave is a big step forward. But if we can just get that opposite Edge to contribute say six to eight sacks and a bunch of pressures we will be sacking the quarterback about four times a game every game.

there might not be a better gig in the entire NFL for Drake next year.

A DC who will blitz and keep the offense guessing, proven DTs that will almost always eat a double team between them, and an absolute stud DE on the other side...that teams have to game plan for. Some one has to be single blocked and Drake mostly likely will see the least double team blocks week in and week out.

At least for us fans...we will know exactly what he is, there should not be much grey left in our opinion given the circumstances.

Nice post

Agree. I'm all for letting it play out and seeing if we have a number 2 that can win one on one consistently and seal the deal.

Bosa was probably the most nfl ready rookie I've ever seen. It's one thing to have an awesome season and then it's another to dominate on a really good defense. His sack numbers weren't exactly great but he was ridiculously impactful and reliable.

i agree with you on what it most likely was. It's why sophomore years are usually huge jumps because players get their bodies right in the off season and get to study/practice after a year of playing. If drake does that, he should have a huge year with Bosa/Armstead/Gravedigger getting mass attention.

i think he can be a more athletic Ahmad Brooks!

Im not banking on it. Budgeting 350 snaps. 3 sacks, 15 pressures. Waiting for that signing we supposedly budgeted for. Good learning experience for Jackson.
If he can only get 3 sacks with the talent he has a long side him, and after a whole off season of improving (usually biggest jump), then this guy will be a major disappointment in my eyes.

unless he's getting a ton of pressure and wreaking havoc, but I personally don't think there is any reason he doesn't have an awesome season when Bosa, Armstead, and Gravedigger will ALWAYS take up four blockers. He will be 1-1 all year. He literally will probably never have a better situation in his career. Lol so I have high hopes for him.

i really like his athleticism and speed.
if he can't pull it off, I'm hoping that we get a crazy surprise from Beal. He's an athletic freak that may be able to pull off 4-6 sacks playing that role. I don't think he will get too many snaps though

If he is good he will likely get 15+ sacks, if he is great 10-15.

If he is consistenly the first pressure, i can see him not getting sacks, with AA, Hargraves, and other DTs scooping his scraps.

But if he is just good, he can feast on the others scraps. Which is also fine, his athleticism to chase down "sneaky" athletic QBs could be an asser.
It sounds like he's putting in the work.

He did fine last season until he ran out of gas.

This is a golden opportunity for him and I think he'll shine.
Apparently jackson looks much bigger. Like 13 more lbs
I know as soon as Roger Goodell sees pictures of this dude he's gonna have a letter in his locker

I thought the same exact thing.
Drake looks likes he's been working non-stop in the weight room. With that type of work ethic, and dedication to fixing his weaknesses, I think he's going to be a force this season.
Can someone post the picture of Drake? I haven't seen it

#56 Austin Bryant looks small af. Geez, someone skips leg day. I left him off my final 53 and now seeing him, it may sound silly, but I am more convinced he doesn't make the final cut lol. Especially not over the more versatile veteran leader, Kerry Hyder, whose has the size to hold up against the run far better.
