Easy to say now, our tune was different after week 1

Yeah, it's not the end but it's a very clear signal Lynch doesn't see him as the answer...had to go and get Gregory and Chase.

Maybe he blossoms down the road...

What's interesting is I'm not going to question their ability to find quality edge guys. They have done so before even if you don't include Bosa. Hoping he comes back in 2024 ready to go. I'm saying this because even if this were a short term IR situation, he still wouldn't come back. Ferrell is better at stopping the run and of course Gregory and Young will be ahead of him. It's going to be real interesting seeing the training camp battle between Drake Jackson and Robert Beal. Both were highly regarded, I think 5-star prospects out of high school, but neither lived up to it for various reasons in college. Drake due to being moved around and not used correctly and Beal was just buried behind an insane amount of talent on that UGA D-line.
I heard Maiocco say last week that something was physically wrong with Jackson> Something about not being able to keep weight on.
Thanks Drake for that int during the Raiders game..that was bomb and I love you for that
thos3 sacks doe.

True. I like to defer to the experts in here as to what may be the issue right now. It's just a bummer he couldn't rush with a plan and build with time. No need to give up on him and Beal yet but their work is cut out for them. I certainly had no issues with the picks themselves. I understood why they went that direction.

That was me in the injury thread.
I had higher hopes for him. He did ok week one but people were flushed to him on the sacks.
He hasn't done much since. He's been losing playing time. We had to trade for two DE's to get help. They brought in Young and cut a CB. A DE had to go. As soon as I saw they said he had a knee injury, I knew he was going on IR and we'd add a CB. I figured Womack but maybe that's coming next week. Give Drake time to heal and improve.
If Thomas. Oliver. Or Kinlaw get any kind of injury, they are next

I guess back flips will only get you so far. Maybe he should try gymnastics.

The vast majority of draft picks dont turn into star players,...regardless of the round. What is there,...almost 300 picks total?

Suggesting a player is not a good pick isin't "calling anything." The laws of averages are clearly at work and it's nothing special.

Tell me who the guys are that will be good early on!! That's calling something!

Not replying to you directly, but rather, anyone out there handing out participation trophies for labeling any picks as "bad picks."

Spot #97 is traditionally the start of the 3rd round. Drake went #94 overall.

When did players taken where almost 100 other guys were taken before them become "top picks" ??

Always thought that was reserved for several players,...at most. Or are we unconcerned with reality and just trying to build a narrative? (i.e...."I need to take over as GM")

When such a big deal was made about him adding 13 pounds of muscle during the offseason you could see the team was trying to find any positive on this guy going to year 2. Even game 1 when sacks fell to his feet the media hype was really hoping for for something to build on.
Hes not done yet, but he wasn't about to suit up anymore with this rotation. Hopefully he figures it out.
