None of those sacks were quality sacks.

Stats are deceiving. Those sacks he got were nice hustle sacks and clean up sacks. Just nothing really great.

This.

Drake is still really young, so he's still got a chance to develop and turn it around. But the dude isn't good at all right now, and the team would only get worse by activating him.

He should not get a single snap as long as Bosa, Chase, and Gregory available.

I won't say he is a bust just yet. He is no where close to be as good as any of those 3, but that isn't saying much. He is still young and raw and can still get better.

the signing of 5 and 92 just didn't help 95 development.. but the guy is young.
at this point Beal should be getting any reps DJ would've
At this point just hoping he can be a good depth guy.

He was never good. We told people to pump the brakes after week 1, but a lot of people on here don't understand football. Context matters. Not all sacks are created equal. Low-quality sacks aren't sustainable. What happened after week 1? None of it was sustained. The dude couldn't sniff another sack for the next 7 weeks.

Drake needs to continue putting in work in the weight room and even more work on his technique. I'll be honest--I'm not sure I see it with Drake. Usually there are signs and flashes that foretell the future. It's not there with Drake. What I see from Drake reminds me a lot of what I saw from Eli Harold--two athletic players with poor instincts/awareness, technique and terrible pass rush IQ.

I think for him it is all technique. He has the physical tools to be very good in the NFL, but you certainly need good techniques to succeed in the NFL.

that and he runs out of gas fast.
He probably has to learn how to play with his new body, adding all of that muscle. To be a good edge rusher, you need to be very technically sound and have an arsenal of weapons.

it's not all about sacks. Pressure and edge setting are very important too. Bosa only has 10.5 sacks but near the top of the league in qb pressures. That stuff disrupts plays too.

There are some players that take time to develop. Often it's because injuries hold them back. Some just didn't play enough in college. However, more often than not guys that don't play well from the start end up being players that fans keep hoping will get better but never do. They remain backups or get cut. I hope Jackson is one of the few that actually does get better.
IF i recall all 3 sacks were clean up hustle sacks. He didn't make a move and just beat his man.
