I would love to see this guap!

BBurford is getting manhandled at guard. Why do you think he would do better at tackle?

Because that's where he played in college and may be more comfortable there. And not sure if you know this but typically DTs are bigger and heavier than DEs, so that may help with the manhandling part. He'd be replacing a guy we were used to seeing get manhandled anyways lol

Exactly and Burford wasn't getting manhandled at guard that often or at least more often than we're used to. I'd argue that he was better in pass pro than we are used to.

?? I don't recall him ever getting physically outmatched. For the most part, seemed like when he did get beat it was either a miscommunication or a technical mishap.

Yeah, honestly I remember him whiffing more times then I wanted but I don't recall manhandling

Love the improvement as the year went on

Love his nasty streak and that he's always looking for work. Overall he was a below-average G but it was an exceptional baseline year for a rookie and you can see, like with Banks, all the tools are there. It's just now a matter of conditioning, working hard on his technique and mental processing. And that all comes with hard work and NFL experience. Banks is great too in that in his first year, he showed he CAN play at a pro bowl level...conditioning had him on the decline as the season wore on but the talent IS there. This is certainly the best 'talent' we've started at both G positions and the depth behind them is very strong as well now. If the FO had secured Cameron Fleming or Isaiah Wynn for RT, this would have been the most talented OL we've seen during the Kyle Shanahan 7-year era.

In a few of those Plays, it was McGlinchy that looked like he was overmatched in the pass blocking, and I also noticed how Brock read the defense much faster than Jimmy in some of those clips. He was much smoother while I got the feeling Jimmy was rushing and panicking in some of those QB reads. I'm still disappointed ShanaLynch couldn't pick up a talented offensive lineman in the draft and have to depend on undrafted free agents in this draft cycle. However, they've had good success in finding gems in the undrafted category, so I hope they found some diamonds in the rough (Fisher, Luciano, Manning) as well as continuing to develop Poe, Pryor, Feliciano, and Zakelj. Hopefully Moore and McKivitz are starter level ready this season.

That interior looks good (Banks, Brendel, Burford), and with Trent holding up the left side, if Kyle can get that right tackle developed, this looks like it's going to develop into a pretty good offensive line. Looking forward to next year when they finally have a first round pick that they can possibly use for Trent's understudy.

Ah, you did what I always do on these clips...watch every OL. Well done.

You can see Brendel also getting tossed on his ass too at the goal line. Just one OL/FB/TE/RB/WR slightly off on their assignment, angle, technique, strength and timing, and the play is blown up. It's a concert, no doubt. When they hit though, it's damn near a home run every time.

I think I get what you meant, but I'd argue this is the most talented O-line. The weal links aren't weak links to the point of where they had been in previous years.

I don't think he was a below avg OG last yr either. I would have loved for them to use some draft capital this yr at the OT spot. If and when Trent gets hurt we're in trouble there. Colton is pretty much a question mark as a starter too.

we will see. I have faith in our OL coach and they see these guys way more than we do.
