Other needs for the team:

1. A corner- 2nd round. Someone that can challenge for a starting job immediately. If Lenoir is now no. 3, we'd have a shot at no. 1 secondary. Especially playing behind this front 7.

2. A man coverage beating wide receiver- need a great route running deep threat. This isn't high priority because we have Aiyuk. Just need another guy.

3. A tight end that can block like a mad man and offer some pass catching. Someone to take the load off Kittle. If we want him to last through a 3rd contract, time to turn him into more of a Brent Jones/Travis Kelce type of tight end.

We have FIVE picks on the first two days. Of the non O-line needs, only corner is up there for me. We probably need to take a receiver in that top 5 to do what I'm asking, but other than that, yes ..3 of those picks need to be O-line assuming no trade ups.

Another young CB would be great, but I first want to see Luter out there.

I like the future at WR with Deebo, Aiyuk, & Bell in 2025, but we do need to draft another WR in either 2024 or 2025 when McCloud and/or Jennings may be gone.

Agreed, need a really good TE that can block, and catch, I'm hoping Latu or Willis turns into that, no one thought Kittle would be who he is now.

12 picks right now is what we have for 2024, Future LT is a huge need, depending in where we are, we need to get one to prepare for life without Trent Williams.

  1. Regardless of how Luter looks, I want another guy. Secondary overall is stronger and although I think we will extend him, isn't Ward's deal up after 2024? Plus our secondary got weak pretty quick when Womack went down. Ideally I want 4 guys that can start outside and 2 in the slot. There can be overlap.
  2. I think the less Kittle bangs against those D-line or linebackers blocking the better. We have little choice this year, but hopefully year 7 is the final year of Kittle playing the Mike Ditka role in our offense.
Agreed with the needs but you always gotta draft BPA. Never know who may fall at a position that doesn't look like a need. CB and RT are glaring needs right now.

Absolutely. Drafting for need is what burned us with a lot of early picks. But if the draft falls right, I think we can come away with 2 tackles and 2 IOL, along with another potential starting corner and one pick to spare if we are talking day 1 and 2 picks only. Lots of young guys but OLdepth can be totally remade. Maybe realistically one of two of the guys are on day 3 but the reality is this isn't a hard ask and we can do BPA there.

Having a 1st and 2nd will do wonders.
He's inconsistent so far. You see him block prefect then the next play he gets roasted.

He's only in his 2nd year, give him time, he didn't even get all the snaps last year, Banks didn't look like he does now when he began, takes time.
He's the worst lineman at the moment. Can't struggle against power on the inside.

I know, but the combo or RT and Center having their issues as well just scares me.

I'm just giving them time to gel, from Trent to Brendel we're good to very good, Burford-McKivitz is iffy, but still need to gel, but we don't have the worst OL in the NFL IMO, not greatest, but not worst.

Oh I want another young CB go with Ward, Lenoir, Oliver, Womack, & Luter, I don't think Ambry will live up to the 3rd rd pick status, I like having 4 outside and 2 inside CBs like you said.

Idk how long Kittle can keep up the physicality, same with Deebo & CMC, but it sure is fun to watch.

Agree, he's still developing, only 23 years old, and his second year playing right guard. He looked good in the Giants game. yes, he had some mistakes but overall 🏹 up!

brock can't get hurt. Personally I think we take 8-10m from our cap gap and spend it on a B/B+ guard. Too many sacks, pressures hits, that's even with shanny calling quick hitters. The only thing that takes us off the victory train is Purdy getting hurt.

I certainly won't turn down offensive line help if ShanaLynch will find a trading partner for some OLine depth. But the ones out there in free agency aren't that much better than what the 49ers have in-house right now. I'm looking for a Rashaun Slater level talent (in a possible trade) but that will cost draft picks and a ton of cap space.

The next best thing is to continue to develop our young OLinemen. It helps that they can practice against Hargrave and Bosa in practice to get better. They (Burford and McKivitz) held up decenly against the Giant zero blitzes, and I hope they continue to develop. We shall see.

$8M-$10M for a Guard is outrageous, besides who out there is available?
