In Burford's defense, I believe it was his first year being a starter on the OLine. He (hopefully) can grow from the experience.
That was his second year as a starter.

Yup, still a young guy. Puni beat him out at RG. Hopefully that translates to Burford being motivated to get better and convince ShanaLynch to put him in a starting position somewhere. Again, only if he gets better.

Right. He is a young player from a small school who will need more time to develop. I can see losing Banks after this season due to salary cap and Burford growing into that spot as the replacement.

Totally agree, a 24 year old guard, with super bowl experience; a good athlete, I see lots of upside.
Maybe they think he's better than McKivitz, or maybe a Trent is going to miss some time

Imagine how bad that would be. Even worse than McKivitz.

Desperate move.

I don't want Burford on the left side, right side, anywhere. He's garbage. His instincts tell him not to block Chris Jones. What does that tell you?

If Trent is out, Moore is in at LT and Burford is likely your backup swing tackle in case Moore or McKivitz gets injured during the game.
Kruger seems to think Burford has a chance to take McKivitz job

I'll be honest, he might be a better run blocker at least, and if he can at least get in the way.. Maybe he can at least be a hair better against the pass.. I really don't know. Burford could be worse for all we know.

Kyle has to recognize we need a change. McKivitz is literally costing us games. I mean, at some point we have to do something.
But not taking a single tackle in a draft full of promising tackles was a good idea according to some guys here because if Shanahan didn't take one it was because there wasn't a single one that could fit the system because you know, Shanahan never has been wrong in his entire coaching life because Shanny is perfect.

Now here come the Shanahan's fanboys in 3...2...1.....

He played tackle his entire time in college, started on both sides of the line. Might even be better suited for it in the NFL.

Been wanting to see this position change for awhile. Maybe he's just not a Guard in the NFL.

Why not. Colton stinks.

You could argue OL is the position they are the worst at evaluating. Looking at every other position, and they have drafted them all, they have drafted okay to great at the others.

As for Burford, I'm actually optimistic about this move.
