??

I remember Krueger was super high in this guy as a bowling ball NT with quickness.
no need to bring him in now, let him sit out the whole year and be more fresh next season...
Kris Kocurek still needs to season and cook him slowly.

The big question is health. He has a lengthy injury history but the 6th is where you roll the dice on highly talented but frequently injured players. As a DL he's so fast off the snap, gets into the OL quickly and would regularly make big plays in the backfield. His size makes it easy for him to win the leverage battle.

I like the pick! I need to dive into the tape, but from the little I've seen of him I've liked. My question is can he consistently hold up or defeat double teams? Because that's primarily how offenses attack our defensive front in the run game, and last season really exposed guys like Givens and Street inside as run defenders.

49ers are literally 1 injury away in Javon Kinlaw from having disastrous run defense. Things could get ugly.

Welp, my fear about the run defense materialized.

Also, I still don't know how well Khalil Davis will hold up to the barrage of double teams that teams throw at the wide 9. Last year showed us that we needed to get bigger and stronger up the middle, and it's even more amplified this season without AA/DJ Jones. I'm not sure Davis that dude to hold up to the onslaught of double teams and not break down over the span of a game. He really needs to change his body in the weight room.

We basically are going to have to get a couple guys to fulfill this role. I'm wondering how they can maintain the strength of the D-line going into 2023.

They really just need some pluggers on early downs given how many edge guys rush inside on 3rd downs. But you can't lose Jones, Kinlaw and AA all at once. Next year they'll need to swap out a DE for an IDT on the 53.
DJ Jones should have been a bigger priority last off season. That dude is a stud inside.

Ironically, Kentavius Street, now in New Orleans, is turning out to be a better interior run defender than Jones. Jones still has a good edge in pass rushing.
Not sure of the rule on NFI players, but Kalia Davis got hurt in October 2021. The ACL should be healed and good to go by now, but he's not had any practice reps and from what I've read, he may have had to have been activated by Week 9 in order to be eligible.
