Good to hear no further surgery was needed. Get it, Brock!

All true. The operation was successful but they say that after every surgery. We'll know how successful it was when when starts throwing again. Even if his rehab goes well he probably won't be ready to start again until week 2 or 3. Let'a hope Trey has progressed.

As a back up not in any sense of competition

Go Brock Purdy go!

It would be completely reckless to even consider any sort of competition between Trey and Brock in TC. Having Trey provides the time to let Purdy completely heal before doing anything that could complicate or delay his recovery. It also gives the team and Trey a chance to see what he can do, and if he shows up and proves himself, we have the best backup in the league as insurances. If he fails it would be easy to re-insert Brock to the starting lineup.

I've been saying this for a couple months now based on what we all saw happen and the reported injury to Brock thereafter. We knew our cap situation and we knew the guys we gotta resign. Trey will start the season and if he's winning he sticks if not in comes Brock. We draft a rookie and sign a cheap vet. To some posters this seemed a foreign concept

I am glad Brock is going to be ready for the he upcoming season because we know what he can do to help us win games

Now had Brock not gotten hurt he'd have the leg up this offseason to start the competition with Trey no doubt

Trey will start the season and if his decision making is better than Brock's he sticks, and if not in comes Brock.

3 months until he can start throwing. 6 months until he is ready (assuming no setbacks). I cant imagine he is ready, ready until the season has already started.

i agree which means getting a real QB in here to help in the meantime is a real need.. can't assume he will fast track this we don't want that either, let him take his time he's got an entire career in front
Get well
IIRC, Nick Mullens said he was throwing at three months post surgery and was football ready in under six.

What is a "real" QB? We need a camp arm and a draft pick.

Lance will be the WK1 QB and then they will go from there.

Gonna pray Brock doesn't lose any arm strength and accuracy after he comes back. Would be awesome if both Lance and Brock having bright promising futures.

Exactly. Purdy should be ready to throw by mid June, then build up his strength throughout June July August. Don't get all this "won't play until week 3" stuff I'm reading here. By September 10, Brock should be throwing at full strength. His 3 month program aimed at easing him into game form should have maxed out by then. I don't know why Kyle would wait until week 3 to play him unless he really wants to give Trey a full chance to prove his worth in the first three weeks of the season, which I wouldn't agree with, especially if Brock is ready…
