Kyle does trust Purdy. He calls passing plays in dangerous situations that he would Never do with James. (He's gone. I forgot his name).

Trey is going to have the entire off season to shore up that part of his game. He's smart, with a good attitude and work ethic. We'll see how far he comes.

Exactly and Kyle needs to realize trey is not Lamar. Extend plays, run when open, and not scheme so many qb runs

It's a rare injury so probably a little harder to gauge for him. Jimmy didn't have to be 100% to start in 2021 so maybe Brock doesn't need to be 100%. I have a feeling Brock starts week 1

Have you had a change in your diet or medication regimen recently? Because we have Trey Lance here that was drafted to be QB1 and is gonna be taking all snaps this offseason in preparation of starting this season my money is on Trey under center week 1. That's the way coaching works.

Why do people like Cam Inman and other such media personnel, etc. continue to think full TJ surgery was an option. It was ruled out completely about 2 weeks ago. For the 4 millionth time it was either one of two procedures. So annoying.

It wasn't ruled out until they did the procedure today. They had no way of being sure until they opened him up. With Mullens they went in expecting to do Tommy John but the damage wasn't as bad as feared so they did the brace instead.

I have my calendar in front of me and I have our current roster in front of me. What I see is Trey will start the season on a roster that HOPEFULLY is as talented as last year with the same Super Bowl aspirations and just like last year this team will be willing to take their lumps with Trey under center so long as he's winning. IF Trey is losing then we should see Brock come in to take the reins. I have said all along that Trey likely has until the bye week to prove he is QB1. Now let's see how naive I am as this thing plays out

That's exactly what I said previously. Is he winning… not a matter of how prolific he is or isn't. If we are winning and he's getting better game by game that's all that matters

I said when we drafted number 5 that I saw him more as another number 5 in Donovan McNabb. Definitely a little bit more athletic than Donavan but nonetheless Trey should be playing more in the mold of a Donovan Mcnabb. Kinda like Reid has Mahomes playing like his Donovan McNabb on steroids

Good news for Brock and the 49ers. Insurance in case Trey gets hurt or screws up

Yup. If he's winning then the Niners will see through the plan of developing Trey as he was drafted to be. If he's losing costing the team they'll let him sit and learn and insert a healthy Brock Purdy

My dream scenario is Trey dominating in camp and playing the position like the player we all hope he could be. My dream scenario is winning the Super Bowl next season, not mortgaging the chance and foregoing Brock's development to prioritize Trey's development.

I sure could not seem to properly utilize my 128 bit encryption decoder to decipher your dream case scenario when reading the commentary you've littered throughout this Trey Dey thread. So I'm glad to see that just like MLK you have a dream. I have a dream. We have the same dream but what follows the comma on your last sentence sounds like a nightmare!

They should use Lance like McNair when he was in his prime with the Titans. Pocket passer/great scrambler.
Ironically, Kyle should use Trey like he uses Brock.

It's not the 2022 offseason anymore. It's 2023. Much has happened since their decision to roll with Trey as the starting QB, competition free, last offseason. To think nothing has changed and they're just going to roll with that same plan is beyond naive.

What competition does he have? Brock will be ready to start fully practice basically week 1?

There is a possibility he ends up only really missing the post draft rookie ota stuff. MLB pitchers are back throwing after a month these days.

Brock could be back throwing by mid-May with their 3 month window, and ramping up from there. I am assuming the 3 month window we keep hearing is out of an abundance of caution.

So we know he will miss the rookie mini camp stuff.

OTA stuff starts late July, that is 5 months from now, or two months after Brock returns to throwing with assumed restrictions.

Week 2 of the preseason is that "6 month" mark or estimated end of his throwing restrictions.

September 7th is the start of the new season and a few days shy of 7 months from now.

The roadmap is there for an on time return with very little missed when it comes to training camps, but Brock could be slow to recover.....who knows...... almost 7 months until the start of the season he could have set backs and still make it back by week 1. Or he could recovery quickly and be throwing full bore in training camp...who knows....
BCB to be on track starting game 1, have Matt Ryan as the vet backup for insurance, and Trey-ning Wheels holding the clipboard and running a small package of qb runs... going to be a great 2023... go 9ers

Which one?

Not the one that allowed his elbow to get wrecked in the first place.
