Talkin bout he's not that good, lol. Okay. Literally undefeated in games he finished though 😆

49ers won those games not one player.

And he played a huge part in it. Josh Johnson proved just how good Purdy was.

While Purdy looked GOOD winning his first 7 games, so did Grappy when we traded for him.. NO?

SHANANIGANS point at Shanny and his offensive mind/play calling when someone like Purdy wins games, they should also point at Shanny when someone like Josh is on the team..

You act like there are teams out there that have quality 4th string QBs. You might be able to get away with it during a game or two in the regular season but definitely not on the road and in the playoffs.

Jimmy winning the last 5 games in 2017 was during garbage time when the team was not playoff bound and the niners were 1-10. Purdy played in increasingly more and more pressured filled situtions (wins and playoff games) as a rookie. Ill take Purdy over Jimmy G 10 out of 10 times.
Analysts keep saying that the QB isn't as important in the Shanahan system. Well obviously the QB is very important as you cant just plug in a Josh Johnson or CJ Beathard and still win games.

Matt Ryan had his best years under Shanahan

Three of the five teams Jimmy helped defeat were headed to the playoffs that year and at least two of them still had something to play for. To imply that they were 'garbage time' wins is typical of the kind of revisionist history that often passes for commentary in here.

He was more in his prime years then. Probably past that now.
Hope he recovers and theres no setbacks. But yeah. We know the Niners always have super optimistic timelines, so I don't expect anything. Might start on PUP and give Lance the first 4 games to see how he does

Gould was the team MVP during that 5 game stretch.

The length posters will go to to downgrade Jimmy's contributions. Disgusting

Same can be said the other way. Jimmy did a lot of good and helped this franchise turn a corner. He was also part of the blame for not winning it all and he was poop in the playoffs/SB.

I wish my fellow handsome Italian all the best of luck whenever he lands next.

we're on to Cincinnati.

We also never read about how the defense was giving up less than 20 ppg during that 5 game stretch.

This. No need to rewrite history and poop on Jimmy to elevate Purdy. Jimmy balled out in 2017 and was THE reason for the turnaround. That said, Purdy is better, and by quite a bit. Not sure what people are watching to not see it. Purdy is QB1. Kyle finally found his QB soulmate.

Defense was giving up 25.8 PPG before Jimmy started; 19.8 PPG once Jimmy started.

Average TOP was 27:31 before Jimmy started; 32:54 once Jimmy started.

Do you think this helped the defense? Who do you think had more influence over the TOP improvement, Jimmy or Robbie Gould?

TOP only mattered when they scored TD's. It's an overrated statistic. We held the ball for long periods of time under Harbaugh but kicked field goals.

Difference between what Brock did and what Jimmy did is Jimmy made a lot more plays out of strucure than Brock did. That can be unsustainable (We saw that with Kap). Once Jimmy lost the ability to ad lib his flaws in reading defenses from inside the pocket were exposed. I saw many fewer flaws inside the pocket from Brock.
