Said Ryans: "He had that kind of 'it' factor that I was talking about earlier when the defenders, they see it, and they notice it, and they want to get behind the guy. That's what Brock had. He had the 'it' factor where he had that play-making ability to where it galvanized the defense."

"They were behind him, and they knew he had something special to him, and everybody believed in him because you can see the type of plays that he was making," Ryans said.
😍

lol but Lance needs the defense to tell him to take chances 😈

very similar to what Fred said about Brock. I like how Ryan mentions the impact QB play has on the defense.

Let's just clear this up once and for all.

Fill in the blank.

Hot hand is QB1 for the 49ers

Done

Fist time I've heard that nickname. Usually just come across Big Cawk Brock. But it makes plenty of sense.

I love calling him Dirty Purdy because how dirty he was at making guys miss him and avoiding guys. I loved it

Mayo kind of killed that one for me. No offense Mayo lol

"hot hand" is growing on me.

Hahah he kept saying Purdy is filthy 😭
Hot filthy hands ?

He has that filthy Prime Time step move to get away from defenders.

filthy with the kick step

Either you have it or you don't, baby! If you have to learn that stuff, your ceiling is a game manager (which isn't a bad thing, still carve out a really nice career, just now want I want my qb to be) - in my opinion.

need those natural instincts in those depts to be great, it can't be part of your process, needs to be part of your reaction to what you're seeing. Otherwise, you miss those windows and opportunities.

Dang, I didn't know that lol.

Yeah. It's super cool. Idk if it will stay after our draft but it's a cool nugget of knowledge.

this is the man that keeps on giving! This guys contract is gold - the opportunities it provides for us over the next few seasons are insane. It will enable us to keep more of our talent.

honestly the worst part to Lance becoming good all of a sudden is he will be come the most expensive player on the roster. So once he becomes good, we will have to lose a lot of talent to pay him. Would be bitter sweet. Lol

Yeah, you can usually tell right off the bat when someone is special. Brock Purdy showed that right away in a tough Dolphins game, in which many picked the Dolphins to win. Standing tall in the pocket throwing dimes, knowing the big hit was coming. Improvising and making off scheduled throws to keep drives going. Showing great poise and command of the offense. And so much more.

I was about to say that will most likely change with cuts and so forth. But as of now, that's pretty cool. And like Lombardi mentioned, it also speaks to Lynch ability to draft late round gems that counter some of our top heavy contracts.

When he stepped in, I was watching the game at home, and I just kept saying out loud "this guys composure is incredible". I couldn't believe it. Then he played great and I was like "wtf is going on?". Lol

he definitely has something special to him when he's on the field. I love how he ELEVATES the offense and isn't just a cog in it. That's what we've been trying to find. Over the last 20+ years - all our QBs where a cog in the offense to make it go - when someone wasn't playing well, our offense stunk (there are few exceptions - such as kap would make great plays here and there but never consistently enough to rely on it). With Purdy, it didn't matter who was or wasn't out there, who the opponent was, if our defense played well or not, he still found a way to win the game. Which is incredible and so so beautiful to watch.

Brock has the it factor. He loos like he is going to be something really special in this league. All I have ever really tried to say about Trey is that I dont have any idea if he has the it factor, is going to be good, or is going to be a bust....and no one else (especially WZ posters) has any idea either.

You're 100% correct that no one can say definitively. I just take in outside context, as well as my own thoughts/perceptions, when I say he doesn't. I really don't know though.

I've always heard that it doesn't take long to know what a qb is capable of, especially when you're with them everyday on a team. It's why I think Lance is more of a really good game manager in his prime. I could be wrong though.

Same here lol

I went from "s**t there goes the remainder of our season" to "wait a minute this dude might have something" to " s**t, this guy can ball" all within a game lol

To some extent, I think QBs will always be a cog in Kyle Shanahan system. You'll always hear people say, "we'll throw in so and so into Kyle's system and they'd be doing the same thing." We've heard it before and still hear it now with Purdy. But, I agree, purdy added mobility and improvisation elevated the offense to new heights.

Agreed.

As as far as Lance, no when can definitely say what he's going to be going forward, but don't blame people for forming their opinion on what he is now, based on the info so far.

There is truth to that because his system is built to where a qb can keep it running (game manager - Jimmy) or it can run through a qb and operate at a level that elevates everything. Just depends on the qb. It's one of the reasons why it's so qb friendly.
You blitz a young quarterback. When he makes you pay for that right out of the gate, it's uh oh. This could be a problem.

I think this is extremely true and well said. KS and JL they know as much football as any two men on the planet. They have been around TL since April 2021. So about 2 full years now. I think they know a tremendous deal about who he is / what he can or can't do. We may not as fans, we hardly have seen him play, but they know in the bldg.
