Again, I pose the question, does Dirty win the Come Back Player of the Year Award?

Damar Hamlin most likely

Was Hamlin even a good player? or a starter? It was a tragic incident but I'd never even heard his name before.
as for Purdy, I wonder if you qualify if your injury was in the post season and not the regular season?

First of all he would need to come back and play well not just play. There were several other impact players that were injured and missed more time than Purdy.

If both play well, I think it's between Dirty and Hamlin. Hamlin coming back from cardiac arrest and Dirty from a serious elbow injury, would both qualify them as major comebacks.

I highly doubt it. He really didn't miss any time to be in the running imo. While also never had been established then had down years to come back from.
If Demar Hamlin plays at any level he's going to win that award hands down.

If Dak wasn't Dak and our D wasn't so good we'd be sent home with 19 points and the narrative completely different. Respect would be for not making mistakes but criticism also for not scoring enough to win the game.
Nobody cares about that. You act like Joe and Tom scored 30+ every playoff game. We just saw Tom win a SB scoring 13 points.
What you should be looking for is how he conducts himself. He was in a bloodbath playoff game. Top 2 defenses dvoa playing at the top of their game.
Brock was never shaken. The moment never looked too big. He just stayed the course, and by the 4th quarter you could tell we had their souls. We had wore them down. The team with the vet QB was the team that folded.
Not every game is some high scoring affair. What's amazing is a rookie QB kept it together, and by the end of the game wore down a top defense. I'm telling you right now Kyle and John were blown away, as was I.
100% agree with you, its how he conducts himself you're absolutely correct. Lets not forget and how this is overlooked by a lot is that he was a rookie 7th round pick last season. A lot of NFL head coaches and ex-NFL HC's couldn't believe how poised Brock Purdy was last season, (and I hate to bring this up) but if it were Trey Lance who won, we would be talking about how he was 19/29 214 yards with a 65% cmp/pct.
Brock was just amazing last year. If Kyle can keep him upright and healthy by doing everything he can to keep him healthy, this kid will have a great and long career. I think Kyle is smart enough to do that - change whatever he has to change - for that to happen. As for Brock, he's already deep into the playbook and football at this early stage of the offseason. In the podcast he's already working on his footwork, which is critical for accuracy and sound mechanics. This guy could be a legend in the making.

He missed the NFCCG and will miss OTAs.

It's easier for QBs to win awards in this league. I think if Dirty Purdy plays just as well, or better, then he wins it hands down.
especially since he didn't lose a game last year, that would be like a 14-15 win season. (Assuming he starts week 1). Hell if that happens he might be in the mvp race. I'm a dreamer. Lol so that's what I'm envisioning 😍😍

He technically didn't even miss a game. IMO he doesn't even come close to qualifying for that award

Tom Brady won his first super bowl by throwing 1 TD the ENTIRE PLAYOFFS. Lol
I'm telling you guys, fantasy football has messed with what people think are good players/games. Brock Purdy didn't play the Dallas cowboys. the San Francisco 49ers did. Each phase of the game impacts the other (offense/defense/special teams). It's a TEAM sport and the way Purdy played, made each phase better, and vice versa.
idk why some don't understand this. It's why I'm so hard on Lance in his starts because the offense operates so clunky, doesn't convert many third downs. Etc. that puts the defense and special teams in tough spots throughout the game.
Jimmy was such a successful qb here, specifically W-L column, Because he operated the offense efficiently. That kept the defense usually fresh, gave us solid field position in each phase, kept the other team off the field etc. he wasnt great like we hoped, but he was damn good because of that. IT'S A TEAM GAME. You can't be boom or bust all the time cause it screws with the rest of the team. You want it to be smooth.

Yeah, I don't think he will either. Incase he does, that's my take for our guy Mayo. I agree though, I don't think he will qualify for it because it happened in the post season

You don't think missing OTAs and Championship game is missing time?

10 points in two out of three start. 14 ppg as an offense in all three starts. Bears had the worst record in football this year? Texans were 4-13?
but putting up 19 against a top defense in a divisional playoff game isn't impressive. Lmao.. just.. lmao
Listing what you saw without context is not fact, its opinion. You conveniently left out context of those games to make it sound like Trey is worse than what he is.
Anyway this is the Brock thread, and I'm hoping his rehab is going well. I hope we don't have to see Darnold on the field because of it
