QB Brock Purdy Thread

No surprise to me that Purdy is stepping up and playing great ball. My college team is in the Big12 and I've been watching this dude for years. Took over as the starter early in his freshman year because of injuries and started every game since. That's not just something that happens a lot. He's played in plenty of big games in some really hostile places.

Seattle won't bother him.
This has been so awesome loved hanging here with you guys & seeing this amazing win..onto Seattle!!!!
When asked about being sacked on the opening play:

"Felt great to get hit. Its like foreplay and a shot of viagra, really gets you up and goin."

Seriously though this kid has NO FEAR! Probably been hanging around Kittle too much.

Crossed my mind but I think Purdy has a better arm and much better accuracy. Some similarities there though
Had to watch the the game on dvr after watching the game in person. The game isn't too fast for him. Didn't realize until I heard it on fox that the Bucs had a top 5 D

Purdy reminds me of a young Joe Montana

Just when games and players are overly scrutinized, overly analyzed, overly dissected, and overly dependent on statistics and numbers, this Brock Purdy is just playing football and having fun. I mean I know he takes the game very seriously and he focuses on winning but he also plays very calm and loose. With his poise and confidence, you wouldn't think he's a rookie- reminds me of Joe 'cool' Montana.

Didn't think of a Garcia comparison. But I can see it now. Shades of a little Russell Wilson (as much as I hate to say it) but less of an arm.

Purdy's game is not on the database yet

His poise, timing, awareness and bravery to take a hit in the pocket (and know when to escape it) was really remarkable.

he's light years ahead of Lance in that regard and even with garoppolo having a very good season he just doesn't have that skill set either.

It's one game. I get it: and I won't be surprised or a fall down to earth but it was shocking to see how well and seasoned this kid played in a huge moment against a damn good defense that was bringing the hits and doing their best to rattle him.

no fear. On the sideline at 21 or 28 nothing he still looked like he was ready to drop another 14 and knew the game was far from over.

Not gonna get ahead of myself but even in just this one game microcosm, it was pretty spectacular to see.
Brock looks like the truth, but never forget, so did jimmy for the 6 games he played at the end of 2017. Then he had a full off season training camp, came back and looked like a frozen statue for 3 games until he blew out his ACL. Then he came back in 2019 and was basically the jimmy we know today.

Brock looks like the truth, but time will tell if this is the real deal, or fools gold. We know he will destroy a defense that's blitzing him, now let's see if he can pick a part a defense that drops 8 into coverage.

LET'S GO BCB

Me too.. pretty much the same size like the younger Wilson. Quick to evade a tackler and find a receiver. Remember how frustrating Wilson was back then, now we got a bit of a taste like Seattle fans when he was doing this to us. And I agree Wilson have a better deep ball arm, but Purdy so far seems to be as good or better pocket passer compare to young Russ.
